&T, I need to get over this girl. Any tips/advice?
It's been close to four weeks since we "mutually" stopped seeing each other. I, more or less, didn't want to, but did because she wanted to ( not really but, it's a fucked up story). Basically, I deleted her numbers, virtually stopped talking to her altogether, and have attempted to erase her completely....all to no avail. Man, I can't focus on schoolwork for thinking about this girl...the sad thing is, I really fell for her, and got my hopes up...and now I feel like crap.
Anyway, what do you fellows do to get over a girl you really, or didn't really like? Or about how long does "getting over" someone take? I'm sure it varies from person to person, but I'm just looking for figures to work with. Eh, I would really like to stop feeling down so I can focus on more important things.
Cheers

I never worry about it. But typically it will take a month or so. It's easier when you don't worry about it / still see her occasionally. I hate the BS some people pull, what with never talking to anyone ever again. Gar-un-teed to make it take much much longer.
And, my advice: Rebound hookup. I think they are the healthy choice, so long as you recognize it for what it is.

If this is the first girl you really fell for it could last until you find a new one. Dont frown upon it, it wont do you good. Go out with friends, meet new people, meet new girls. This whole experience will build you up to not be crushed like this again when the next 'perfect' girl comes around. Trust me, ive been through it all.

It helps to know you don't need anybody. As long as you can rely on yourself, you'll be okay.
For me, it was 6 months or so ago (last June) that I broke up with a girl of nearly 2 years. It was hard for a week then I realised that I can get so much more done on my own.
Also I realised how much happier I was when I didn't have to be somewhere I didn't want to be or do something I didn't want to do or say shit I didn't want to say...All these things you have to do with relationships.
Any other girl, I may be a little down in the dumps for a bit but I'd get used to it soon and I'd be like "Whatever...Plenty more where she came from"
And until I find one of the plenty more out there, I'll continue to keep strumming away on my guitar, going out when I feel like it and I'll enjoy spending my hard earned money however I damn well choose!

listen to "yesterday" by the beatles and smoke some weed (or an opiate!) to make you feel better. Then look back on it.
Failing that I suggest a long path of hating yourself, leading to the purchase of MCR's "The Black Parade", at which point you will eventually kill yourself.
