Do they just forget?
Iv have been in a relationship with this 1 girl for nearly 3 years, she ended it a couple of days ago.
We ''loved eachother very much but last half a year i treated her like shit and she ended it (dont relise what you had until you'v lost it)
Can people just forget and move on or do you always remember a person you loved? She says its over for good and its for the best.
Does that mean she honeslty never wants to see me again i dont see how it could be that easy.
Dont know if this makes sense but try awnser if you can.:p

Re: Do they just forget?
Its not easy man. It takes a looong time. In fact, I visited my ex-gf's myspace profile today, just to see what she's been up to in the last couple months...
And her page is exactly as I envisioned it. All about her bf. Her bf filling every role I once did, instead of her doing it for herself. She even modified all of her petnames for me for this kid haha
Don't worry buddy, you've left your mark.

Too bad mate...Not happening...Sorry to say it but it's true.
It always helps to know that you can have more good times with other people buddy.
When me and my ex broke up, I didn't think I could have a good time with anyone else...But for the last 4 months, I've been out with several girls and had a good time..And spent LOADS of time with my friends.
Give it a try man.

Because most of them are cold heartless bastards my man...Get used to it.
My ex broke up with me telling me she needed time alone...Needed to concentrate on her shit...Wanted to be single again for a while so she could get her life on track...So on, so forth.
Found out a couple weeks back that she's with the brother of some chick I know...Thought "That was a quick life-back-on-track" exercise...But then again, I had an idea she was fucking about with someone else.
Did she seem unfazed when she broke up with you?...Like it wasn't really that important?...Just went about her business as usual?...If so...Well...Need I say more?

Re: Do they just forget?
Did she always have a problem with your drug use?
You can take this a few ways: 1)seriously consider changing your life style, not for anyone else except for you, and maybe get back together with her, or 2)say fuck it carry on with what your doing. Of course there are many other options ahead of you, even middle ground is possible.
You gotta keep in mind that as much as you may want to be with her, she may NOT want to be with you. My ex broke up with me partly because she couldn't stand that I did drugs very occasionally at the time (a very small reason but one none the less). I tried hard to convince her I changed my ways, but nothing I did really mattered. Then I found she was doing the "other guys" thing, and I started to move on. Its a hard process but your gonna have to go through it, its ALOT easier if you accept it early and start moving on.

Re: Do they just forget?
Dude...A text break up...You must have really pissed her off or she really is hurt by it.
My personal advice would be to kick the drugs, they'll fuck everything up in the long run mate. Life, relationships, etc.
Second, move on.
I think that if she ever really did love you, there's still a part of her that does but it's not enough to put up with your shit.
I know it'll be harder than a paedo in a playground but I personally think that would pay great dividends buddy.
And who knows, if you clean up your act, you may actually get back with her in future. Some things are meant to be mate.

Re: Do they just forget?
Have you talked to her since? Try talking to her in person, so she can see how you really feel, as sometimes words in text can just be meaningless.

Re: Do they just forget?
Talk to her if you can.... So far I've ended up making out with 4 of my 5 exgirlfriends.... and the one was early highschool, so we'll just say all of em. However, girls sometimes spazz and think "everything will be so much easier if I don't talk to him" - and not talk to you at all. Walk down the other side of the street avoidance, as if you were gonna reach out and bite them. Anyways, try to avoid this. Sometimes they just do it and don't tell you..... but it's bad for everyone. She will slightly obsess over you, turn pretty neurotic about you in general, and it will take her much MUCH longer to get over you. [whilst you not getting any advantages of said obsession, less you get off on being stalked]
Also, pendulum theory, especially with the 4-5times. Watch for the pattern. My one ex is like this especially... You can watch it happen.... For her, the pattern is:
be all lovey->get pissed->get really pissed->get emo->get apathetic->get all lovey->be really happy->get pissed....

What drugs are you doing? If it's just pot it shouldn't be hard to quit that, it'll just take a bit of will power, but if you're doing heavier shit that has some serious withdrawals behind it, it might be better to wait until the pain isn't so bad. Because emotional pain and withdrawals will mean the worst time of your life.

Re: Do they just forget?
Because emotional pain and withdrawals will mean the worst time of your life.
But once you come out of the other side clean and clear-headed you can look back on it and know you can take anything.
It's challenges like this that define you. Cutting out something that's bad for you, yet helps you so much in bad situations and getting through it. Not necessarily on your own but getting through it and dropping a habit at the same time.
A recent one for me is I dropped the anger thing after I got dumped and fuck man, I feel great now.
In that situation, I would have gone fucking apeshit...Smashed things, smashed people, whatever...I would go mental. Then I'd get drunk and do some more stupid shit. My hands, elbows, knees etc would bleed and swell from the pure punishment I was giving them whilst giving it out to other things/people and the rush was fucking amazing at the time. I was on top of the food chain. On top of the world. Nothing could beat it. Nothing.
But like a drug, the come-down was unbearable...Depression, remorse, regrets, tremendous physical pain and having to look people in the eye and apologise for what I'd done. That was the hardest part.
The giving up part was hard aswell. Concsiously stopping myself from doing something that would make me feel great again. Constantly seeing it just out of reach, beckoning me to seize it and let loose.
But I kicked it.
I look back and think to myself "You did it son...You fucking did it and you don't need her or the anger anymore."
Greatest feeling I've had for a long time.
