I finally went out clubbing for the first time last week, and after 10 or so bourbon and cokes I got enough courage to talk to some women. I didn't really know what to say on account of my social retardation (for reals), so I just used the old "how's it going?" which actually went pretty well for the most part.
After that, though, I'm screwed. What sort of things should I be talking about? I know that it really just depends on the person, but I really have no clue where to go after the opening line and some mindless chatter. I just don't know how to go from talking to something a little more intimate, basically.
So, um, tips?

Hmmm, I can give you advice on the account that I club a lot (or used to), but it may not work for you because I have a unique style.

I hate chit-chat, with a passion. I just can't stand those boring formalities "hey how's it going" "My names bob" "What do you do for a living?" "Oh? Where abouts are you from?" "BLAH BLAH FUCKING BLAH".

Dress nicely, draw attention to your self, try and wear atleast one piece of clothing that stands out. Then get up high, on a stage or podium, and dance like it's the end of the world. Have an amazing time, get shit faced, do drugs, what ever's your flavor. Girls will come to you.

Picking up, or pussy trolling as I call it, is tedious and you (well I do) lose self respect for my self. It's soooo much more complementing when a girl picks YOU up!

If you want to talk to people and have meaningful conversations, a club is not the place to do it.

Oh oh, and finally, you need to learn about "the zone". People like hooking up with other people in their zone. That zone might be sober (designated driver), drunk, rolling off their tits, tweaking, tripping, what ever. But your chances of success double, atleast, when going for some one in the same state as you. Inebriated people "connect" with other people equally inebriated "Man I'm so fucked up" - "Yeah me too" - bang, connection.
