Not a very important thread. I was just browsing a forum (not a totse forum),and saw they have a forum specifically for posting infractions and warnings for posters in.
Looking down the list, it seemed laughable. Infracting and warning people for their punctuation and such..

It just seems odd that a few posters here complain about how totse is doing the cencorship and nazi thing,yet other forums really are bad.


I'm just kind of curious to see what everyone here's oppinion is of running a forum in such a manner as that of the forum I showed screenshot of?

Well, I think some Totse mods do abuse their power. But that's a whole other story....

I think it's terrible to infract people for their grammar and spelling. Some of the posters in OI are the most awesome contributing posters evar, but they cant spell for shit. It would be..like, really bad to infract them just for how they spell.

Many serious boards are like that. (I don't know if the board you posted is 'serious'). Every science and mathematics board I go to is like that.

It's the only want to keep the average intelligence level from plummeting.

That's fair enough. When I get my forum up and running,there will be little tolerance for outright trolls and bullies. But the spelling thing gets to me alot.

Anyway, I dont know why that forum would be so strict on intelligence and such, it's not a 'smart' website, it's a site that has lots of offensive..allthough often entertaining..webcomics.

I've encountered one automotive board where they would IP ban you if you admitted you werent a professional even if you were an engineering student.

Pretty writing and grammar and intelligence dont always go hand-in-hand. Just take a look at any note I jot down. On my desk right now I have dozens of sheets of calculations, drawings, outlines, and whathaveyou written in several different colors of ink plus pencil from many different projects.

Totse people don't know how lucky they are. Before totse I used to mod a forum which was extremely strict, we use to pull people up for txt type language threads, threads with little content, threads with swearing and abuse. We also used to delete irrelevant purposely distracting posts, and trolls? Ha, gone.
