Getting Tested
Short version: New girlfriend has "regrettably prolific" past (her words, not mine). What the cheapest way for her to get comprehensive STD testing? She's 18 but lives with her parents, and we'd prefer they not find out.

You're an idiot.
Go to Planned Parenthood, or if there is a College in your city there should be a free clinic there.
She's 18, it's illegal for her parents to be told without her consent.

He asked for an STD test and you say pregnancy?
Makes me think you're not old enough to know what goes on down there...

Re: Getting Tested
If nothing else, go to a clinic, and ask what your options in the area are. You never know what might be offered where you live. Most places have a real safe sex initiative going on, so they should be happy to help you.

She is 18, doctors can't tell her parents anything without her permission.

Despite what most horny 14 year olds think, Pregnancy is not an STD
On Topic: She should go and see a doctor if she's worried. Doctor-Patient confidentiality applies. So unless her parents are the kind who'd go apeshit, start lawsuits and rip the hair off her head until someone let's them in, you should be fine. But if push-comes-to-shove, telling the parents should be considered.
I've also heard Home Testing Kits exist, but I don't know if they exist, or how accurate they are. Consult your local Pharmacist.

Re: Getting Tested
In most towns there is a sexual health clininc. It's free. Just go in, make an appointment, tell them you want to be tested. They will either do the tests there or refer you to someone who can do it/talk to your family doctor for you. And if you live in Canada it's completely free.

Re: Getting Tested
Go to a clinic? They're not about to call the parents. They're not allowed to discuss the results with anyone but the person in question.

Actually, I was at Wallgreens a couple days ago picking up a prescription and I noticed that at the top row of "ready prescriptions" there was a few home testing kits. They were about $60... Not sure what STD they checked for or if you need a prescription, because they were behind the counter.
I s'pose do what he said and check your local pharmacy...

Re: Getting Tested
shoukd be no problem if she's eighteen, with regards to her parents finding out.
go to a clinic/school and get it done. they can text you the results these days, so it's all pretty easy and secretive.
