Ok, so I've been single for the last 9 months or so. I pretty much decided to stay single for a while after a pretty unhealthy/ugly relationship. It's been good for me, and I really appreciate the time to get to know myself better. However, the entire time I've been single I find that I never stop thinking about how much I want to get back into a relationship. Now that more and more time has passed, I'm only getting more and more impatient to find someone. It's almost like I'm obsessed with it, and I can't stop thinking about how nice it would be to have someone there for me again.

It's getting to the point now where I can't stop thinking about it. In turn, it's making me depressed. I know that the best thing to do is just to not think about it and let it happen when I least expect it. Easier said than done. It doesn't help that 99% of my friends here are all in great relationships with good people. It helps even less that I go to a university with some of the most drop-dead gorgeous girls. The thing is, I'm over one-night stands. I did that shit throughout my year in the dorm, and all it did was make me feel empty.


What's the best way to just let these persistent thoughts go? I have way more important things to worry about right now, and the last thing I want to be thinking about is how little I'm getting laid and how lonely I am most of the time.

get a girlfriend, mate. :) that's how you fix being lonely...

or if you don't feel ready to quest for a relationship just go out with the purpose of making friends and let things happen as they may.

Yeah, that's pretty obvious, but easy only in theory. I would much rather be able to not think about it all ad let it happen when the time is right.

i agree with ford... trust me i know its hard to not think about it, all of my friends are coupling off with people and there's just me staying single... its a bitch i know, but you're not going to get anywhere just sitting at your place hoping someone will walk through the door in love with you or that all of a sudden you aren't thinking about it.

Just go out, make some new friends, it doesnt need to be a sexual relationship but just a new relationship in general...

Just go out and do work, i was like that several months ago, couldnt take it anymore...met a few new girls and talked to a few old ones.

For the most part: you need confidence and happiness to get a girlfriend you really like, and you need a girlfriend you really like to be confident and feel happiness.

You need to indulge yourself in things that make you happy and keep you busy - work, a job you like, a hobby - preferably social, and just try to meet someone through that, or failing that carry the feeling of satisfaction from your work/hobby into your hunt for cunt.
