Yeah, that's the problem: people seem to not understand the difference between width (or thickness) and circumference which is the distance around. Thickness can be deceiving becuase the typical penis in not perfectly cylendrical... that is, perfectly round in cross-section.

If it were, then then girth (circumference) would be pi x width. (about three times width).
