The Pick up Artist(whats your opinion?)
With the recent season of the Pick up artist on VH1 coming to a end, been seeing alot of talk about this show. Alot of people deem it as pure bulshit, saying they could do the same if not better, the show is staged, actors, setup, fake. Go on further to say mystery is a joke, his techniques are bulshit(cant agree with that) and so on.
Its funny though, the people who say they can do better, dont have as much as a single piece of proof to back that. Saying oh i can pick up drunk chicks at a club, its like yea then why havent you? Choose up i mean come on!
I havent personally used any exact material from his teachings, but if i use anything out of the ordinary it branches off from the whole pick up artist tree of techniques(made that up). In my opinion the shit works. Theres truth behind the stuff he demonstrates. Alot of people think its pure BS because they are soo use to the ordinary plain way of picking up girls, which doesnt always work anymore since times have changed. Doesnt mean that you cant make custom techniques of your own to use on girls that can be successful.
What do you guys think?

Re: The Pick up Artist(whats your opinion?)
With this all becoming so mainstream now, I wouldn't be surprised if chicks started wising up about it all. I could just picture someone using some canned technique and the girl being like: "Oh, I'm not gonna fall for that, loser!"
The funny thing is, you could have actually been saying something you completely thought up yourself, and it will just happen to sound very similar to something the girls already heard, and it will result in confused embarrassment.
But then again, chicks are generally quite stupid and easy to manipulate, so they probably won't even notice, or even care that they're being picked up in such a way.

Re: The Pick up Artist(whats your opinion?)
Also, I think it will have a major effect on the whole traditional courtship ritual. It will make guys seem a lot more phony than they already are.
Personally, I think this whole thing should have stayed a bit more low profile. Now that more people are using these techniques, there are a lot more idiots out there who will mess it up for all the veterans and pros.
Lol, not like that part really affects me, since, even though I have read a lot of material on the subject, I don't see the need to have to follow it all by the books.
Although, some of the ideas do make sense, some of them are even common sense, at least to someone who understands the basic psychological processes involved in courtship and mating. So to say that it's all BS is a bit of a stretch, if not a down right lie.

Re: The Pick up Artist(whats your opinion?)
Thats why guys shouldnt duplicate routines from the show.
Idk my stuff you cant really point it towards the PUA's techniques. Like i said the idea behind it points back to some of their shit but it wont get me called out ever. I was talking to my one friend i told him that i seriously believe, at least for now, that even if a girl knew about the tecniques off that show, who says you cant change it up a bit and straight up own the girl right in her face after she thought shed never fall for it. Like all that shit on the show points towards a general idea of how to do it, as long as your not using identical terms from it, how would they ever know? How would they know if its a routine or you actually being normal? And what guys are acting phony? The ones using the these techniques? Possibly, more than likely, but guys showoff and talk nonsense as it is regardless.
And not every guy understands the basic psych in this type of stuff. Alot of guys are clueless to a point. I fucking even had holes in my shit back in the day. You learn though, unforantely for some they dont.

Yeah, if you modified it enough, then it could quite likely slip under the radar.
Also if anyone read The Game, a girl knew of the techniques that style was putting out, but still desired him.
Yeah, that is true.
It's because it works. I won't deny that. If done right, it will most definitely work in most scenarios.
That, though, is what kind of bothers me. It just feels like it's kinda cutting the whole thing short. A tradition that has built into something wonderful and complex and exciting.
Now it's been cut down to a one night process.
This is playing a large role in systematically turning the entire world into one big orgy. If all men had the capabilities to seduce women as easily as women can seduce men, then, well... It doesn't take too much of an imagination to picture that outcome...
Say goodbye to romance as we know it.

Re: The Pick up Artist(whats your opinion?)
Why couldnt it be below the radar all the time? If you take the ideas as a guideline, then just run with them youll be doing exactly to the book of what a girl should go for. Say you take the negging, domination/leading and all that shit and use it out there, its not going to send out a red flag to the chick unless your saying the known lines. Hey did you see the fight, Flossing before or after u brush...dumb shit like that. Cause if im teasing/negging a girl, she'll just look at it as that not thinking, is he trying to pull some pick up artist shit on me

But not all of them do as you said. Cause look the guys who think they are hot shit are going to toss this techniques out the window and run with what they got. The geeks and have nots are going to be checking out and blowing up these routines. Not everyone will catch on. I havent met but one person that truly hasnt trash talked on the show, cause no one believes that theres such an approach to getting with women. BUT there is, its simple, but they refuse the truth.

Really? I thought that this whole thing would actually appeal to basically any guy. I mean, wouldn't the logical response be like: "Hmm, I could be getting laid even more than I already am..." ?
But then again, I have been secluded from people for the past several months (I moved, and have made very few friends as of yet).
I also have this recent tendency to want to stay secluded for the most part...
But anyway, my point is that I have never really had conversations like this in real life, so I have no idea how most people are reacting to the whole thing.
But if that's the case, then that is a good thing I suppose, as it will keep things a bit more regulated.

Re: The Pick up Artist(whats your opinion?)
Well think of it at a american point of view, its on vh1, its a reality show, people wont believe it, just think of it as entertainment value. And YES, like none of the people ive been around or mentioned to them about it believe in it, I watched it at my friends house and my friend seemed to have a interest in the idea, but then his brother(also my friend) about shit a fit saying how its fake and such, its like yea thats why uve been with the same ugly, overweight girl for the last 4 yrs while within 4 months ive met several girls that out chart that shit u call ur GF. It makes me wonder how much direct people have to be with the truth, its right there and people still deny it.

Re: The Pick up Artist(whats your opinion?)
Read The Game, it's a good book and you can find it online. The Pick-Up Artist was filmed in my city, in fact I live not too far from that mansion.
I don't think it was fake. I've been to a lot of those places "in the field", and The Game was never an extremely popular book anyway...Austin is a long way from LA so it's not like those techniques would be exhausted already. Plus, let's face it, most girls who go to clubs are stupid, so they'd probably fall for the same trick twice anyway.

Re: The Pick up Artist(whats your opinion?)
According to wikipedia the show was mostly full of actors/models.
"Soon after the show appeared it was discovered that contestant Alvaro (aka "Kosmo") is an actor[1]. VH1 previously listed Kosmo as a video game programmer but has recently changed his occupation to cameraman[2]
Kosmo Cleared up any controversy in recent interviews with vh1 and on the NOWLIVE.COM[3]. show The Lovedrop that vh1 incorrectly listed him as a video game programmer, and that he is an aspiring actor, working as a Vj and camera man for the past 4 years in Miami, New York, and Los Angeles (GMO2099 18:03, 1 October 2007 (UTC))
Runner-up contestant Brady, despite being described as a shy photographer, also worked as a model in a Los Angeles modeling agency.[4].
Also according to Fred's Myspace, he is an actor, singer, comedian, and reality show contestant [5] which might contradict VH1's website listing him in Sales [6]
Also in the first episode Spoon goes up and talks to a girl called Evan who is made out to be a regular club guest but who is actually part of the pick up community working with Tynan also known as Herbal who used to work with Mystery."

No, sorry, can't agree with this. If you apply the techniques of pick up, all you are doing is learning how to communicate better and how to not creep girls out.
I mean seriously, girls think guy's are confusing and the point is that we really are from two different worlds when it comes to speaking to one another.
Which is why becoming a pick up artists forces you to become great socially and basically allows you to convey the interesting things about yourself without the girl getting in her own way.

No kidding, just because you go to auditions does not mean you are a phenomenal actor. Brady being a photographer probably had some modeling pictures taken of himself and sent around in a portfolio. You have to remember, this is what EVERYONE who lives in L.A. does.
That guy is kind of a tool for trying to discredit the show because two of the guys were "actors". To me a lot of that shit seems pretty believable from the type of guys I've talked to and hung around with. Some of that shit you just couldn't fake.
