When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
I AM A GIRL!!! - Just to clarify ONE more time.
When does the usage of language go too far when talking to a girl? I can understand playing around, but when a guy is mad at a girl is it ok to use bad words? I'm not talking hell, damn or bitch. I'm talking cunt, mf, pussy, etc. Especially when you have been with this person for two years. Where do you draw the line?

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
My line? No name-calling........EVER. And yeah, sometimes its hard not to, especially in a heated argument. But you have to be aware of how scathing some phrases can be. There is a big difference between saying....."That was a real stupid move on your part" vs. "You ARE really stupid for doing that". The first is disagreeing with a particular ACTION/DECISION.....the second is making a judgement of the person themselves.
What I don't get, is why in 2007 with all the problems we have that people are still so bothered by certain words. And each person seems to have their own set.....its almost as if we need to walk around with a sign on our backs proclaiming to the world....."don't say this or that because that is MY trigger". I just got into this with a friend the other day. You can call her bitch, and she wears that proudly. But I made the mistake of jokingly calling her a "dick tease" and she went ballistic.
As for your guy, don't be so hard on him. When men vent or are angry, it usually opens the door to a whole litany of cuss words. That's just life. Just like women tend to be moody emotional creatures, with their feelings see-sawing sometimes minute by minute. We don't hold YOU that accountable because of that quirk, so cut us some slack when we are going off while using some colorful verbiage.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
If meant jokingly, I have no problem with insults. If someone I'm dating insults me seriously then that generally turns me very cold and hostile and the relationship generally starts to decay after that.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
I get called names all the time. I know he doesn't say them to upset me, he does it because I like it and he likes to use them.
If he started using ones that hurt me, I would be upset about it. That would be the point where I'd want it to end.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
yeah, and after two years he realizes and knows what words I don't like. I use bad language too, but I have never called him anything more then an asshole jokingly. It just bothered me that he would say those words to me when he knows that they upset me.

A swear word from a man doesn't mean nearly as much as it does from a woman. When he's with his mates he swears like a trooper. Don't look too deeply into it.
The point to start getting worried is when he starts using derogatory language towards you in a mean way e.g
"Shut your fucking hole, slut"

Just out of curiosity but is this the same guy you were asking advice on how to get with on here a few days back?
If it is, ditch the bitch.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
I've seen girls bounce because my friend used the CUNT word. I don't obviously disrespect girls unless I feel they deserve it and don't say CUNT.
That's all that should be expected I'd say...

Bullshit! Utter and complete stupidity!!!! With ZERO facts backing your drivel. Tell ya what bub....most of my friends/relatives/neighbors/co-workers think I'm one of the smartest and wittiest people they know. Yet, for the most part....I swear like a sailor. I've got it down to an artistry. I use "bad language" for emphasis, as well as adding color to my dialogue or storytelling. And very often some of those people say "huh".....because they think I use big words too much. They are intimidated at times by my vocabulary. So at this point you can do 3 things with your simplistic cliche that has NO relevance or accuracy.....
1) Go fuck your bitch of a mom in her tainted cunt, because being a no-good bastard she really isn't your mom.....and instead is probably daydreaming about you fucking her asshole to hell and back, so much so that she'll never be able to hold another shit in for the rest of your life because a mother fucker like you probably HAS a big dick..since you ARE a big dick. (There, did I fit ALL of your "bad words" in that lovely directive above?)
2) Change your screen name to "poser"....because I don't know of any "Rocker" that is such a silly twit "offended" by such nonsense.
3) GTFO of my Totse.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
Jesus christ, what the hell was that rant about?
Anyways, I cuss too and I find that it adds flavor when you are pissed and telling a story. However, there is a difference between trying to hit someone where it hurts and telling a story. No, this is not the same guy as the guy I was talking about a few posts back. This is a guy I have been dating on and off for about two years. We have had our rough times and when he attacked me about not backing him up with his decisions this happened. I can't back him up with his decisions because he lives freaking 3 hours away from me. I don't know if it's even worth it because its just fight, make up, fight, makeup.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
Yeah, I tend to say alot of "curse" words when I get angry, shit I use them when i'm not angry too, but to a lesser extent. My mom raised me like that though I was swearing left and right by the time I was 10 and she was swearing twice as much, just a fouled mouthed english lady I guess.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
i dont think people enjoy having foul launguage slung at them
especially when there is emotion behind it (him being angry)
but i find even talking normally people i'm around pepper language into every conversation
the only word i will not tolerate though is cunt
i dont know why
it just gets to me
but apart from that words are just words i couldnt care less

Just because you use swearing for emphasis doesn't mean you aren't dull. A smart, witty person, doesn't need to use swearing as emphasis. They are so smart and witty that they don't need to swear to prove a point. They use a variety of different, smarter, and positive ways to make a point. I proved you wrong, without swearing so there. HAH.
HAH. A simple laugh and your words become nothing.

3) GTFO of my Totse.
You really prove to everyone that you are alot more dull than you think.

I only say those kind of words to my girlfriend in bed, because that is what she likes.
When you argue with someone you care about you try to communicate with them. Calling people names is little kid shit. That dude sucks.

When you call someone names, you are essentially giving your judgement on them. You say that is little kid shit, but then you go on to say that dude sucks. You just judged him when you said he "sucks". Do you see your hypocritical tendencies?
You are no better than him just because you say things in a "nicer" way.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
The language only becomes vulgar when you let it become vulgar.
The word is only a word, and you CHOOSE to FEEL about it in a certain way. It can't hurt you unless you let it hurt you. My wife of 50 years could call me an asshole, fucker, prick, pig etc etc etc and I could get mad or I could laugh. Life is a choice.

I am only extending the guy the same respect he extended his girlfriend.
I am not "arguing with someone I care about," but rather I am criticizing someone in a terminology the vulgar masses can understand.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
I am actually shocked at the over reaction to curse words in this thread. Maybe in other countries, higher emphasis is held on swearing, but to split up with someone because they called you a name in an argument is just silly.

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
[/B]
You really prove to everyone that you are alot more dull than you think.
That is where you are wrong. I'm using the swear words PURPOSELY because I'm intelligent enough to understand the shock value of those words, and assessing the context of the scenario it is a tactic counting on the fact someone will be offended by the usage of those words.
If I'm waiting to be seated in a restaurant, and the host seats a party that came in 10 minutes after me.....I can get a certain amount of affect saying...."This is unbelievable, what gives?" for much of the restaurant to hear. Now if I say it this way....."This is unFUCKINbelievable, what gives".....there is a pretty damn good chance my needs will be tended to quicker. Granted, that may result me in getting thrown out of the restaurant....but suffice it to say THAT comment won't be overlooked whereas the former one could easily be brushed aside or ignored.
So no, I'm not throwing around the f-bombs because I'm an uncooth nincompoop unable to express myself a different way. Instead I've intellectually assessed the situation and PURPOSELY thrown out that word after my lifetime of experiences witnessing the reactions of people that DO get offended by simple verbiage. Hardly "oafish" or "dull".

Re: When does language towards a girl become vulgar?
Anyone who feels better about themselves 'cuz they don't use "foul" language is a fucking twat. And an idiot, too. Words are just words, and they only have the power other people are willing to give them. There's nothing inherently wrong with swearing, and there's no indication of intelligence based on whether or not someone swears.
