How can I get with this girl?
Ok, here's the deal. There's a girl I've known for about 2 years, and I like her. Quite a bit, really. She just broke up with her boyfriend, and I was thinking of trying to get with her.
Thing is, she knows I like her, but she doesn't like me (or so she says. She's kind of stubborn). I don't really get it, her ex had no life whatsoever and I'm actually successful (for someone that's 16).
So how could I get her to like me and at least give me a chance?

Maybe she just really isn't interested in you?
I'm actually successful (for someone that's 16).
You cook the fries at a McDonalds?

Re: How can I get with this girl?
I say you give it a try...If she says yes then you're in...If she says no, fuck it...Not worth the effort and aggrevation. Move on and find someone who does want a successful sixteen year old.

Bump.
And EssJay, when I said successful, I meant that my life isn't fucked up like many teenagers. I have a good-paying job (not at McDonald's), still schooling, I have a nice car, etc.

I understand what you mean, but I was being a smart ass with the McDonald's joke, 'cause that's what most 16 year olds around here do, although they usually get the bad jobs like cleaning the toilets after some REALLY fat fucker takes the most horrid smelling dump of all time and clogs it right up.

Re: How can I get with this girl?
You seem overly confident. Why should your good job be so important? You mentioned it and it doesent really have any relelvance. Atleast, it shouldnt. Would you want to date a girl who was with you because of your good job and the money you make?
One idea is to spend time with her. Be nice and funny, and have a good time together. And see if her feelings for you become more clear. But dont force the question too much, else she'll think the only reason you spend time with her is because you want to screw her.

I hate it when girls say this shit. Of course money (car) have a huge role in the dating game, and if you have it you obviously have a legup over your compettition. Storybook romance doesn't exist anymore, get over it. Women nowadays have as much freedom as men do in the dating game and a womans heart is quite the superficial thing as men have noted throughout history.
How is it any different if a girl dates you because your tall? AND/OR because you're handsome ? AND/OR because of your biceps? AND/Or because your very funny/witty/etc?
All of these traits are "shallow" to some extent, yet I can bet even you yourself (every girl says "omg not all girls are like that, I'm special") expect all or atleast a few of these traits in your mate.
So in the end, OP should tape a bunch of 100 dollar bills to his cock and smack her in the face with it, she'll succumb.

Re: How can I get with this girl?
Whatever you do, do not jump hurdles time and time again to try to satisfy her. There are various ways to go from where you are now - being straight up and honest with her about your feelings, flirting and hinting etc, just trying to be friendly and spend quality time with her, totally ignoring her and hoping absence will make her heart grow fonder, so on so forth - I'm not gonna advise you on which to do, the choice is yours to make and learn from. Just whatever you do, if she rejects you clearly again, give it up. Don't totally break off from being friends, just cool everything off and try to move your mind on.

To me, he sounds under-confident. He's just trying to reason that because he has a car/job/whatever he's a good catch.
I think you have fucked up Invision, 2 years and nothing yet? I mean, it's always possible, but if she knows she can have you, and hasn't made a a move of any sort then you are pretty much out of the running. There isn't really a lot you can do - when a girl decides you're a friend, it's almost impossible to break out of.
I don't really get it, her ex had no life whatsoever and I'm actually successful (for someone that's 16).
This made me lol, are you familiar at all with ladder theory?
Seriously, your best bet is to forget her and find someone else. By trying like this, your friendships is simply going to crash and burn.

Re: How can I get with this girl?
Update: I called her today to ask her to homecoming and her mom picked up her (cell) phone. I found this a little bit odd. I asked if she was home, and her mom said she was sitting with [her ex]. Apparently she's still single, but I find this kinda fishy.

You lose. The sooner you accept it, the sooner you can move on.
