This is fucked up.
The other day my mom calls me up and says my aunt died of cancer last week and she wants me to come visit. So i make my way back home only to over hear my mom talking to someone about how she is feeding my grandpa anti-depressants and he does'ne even know about it. I think it's wrong, and i am against anti-depressants, but then again he may die soon so whats the difference?
What should i do about this totse? Besides eat his oxys?

Re: This is fucked up.
well, morally there are 2 sides.
its wrong because hes being forced into something against his will. and is probably illegal. or would be if it were a younger person.
BUT. how would he be if it werent for the antidepressants?
the thing is, ask him, without making it obvious, whether he would want antidepressants. do this when you know the most recent one has worn off as much as possible. if he says no, tell him whats going on.

Re: This is fucked up.
if your mom has power of attorney over him then she can legally feed him the drugs without his consent.
but really, would you rather die happy or depressed?

Re: This is fucked up.
anti-depressants don't make you "happy" they make you "numb"

No, this does not belong in BLTC, because it is not a question about the effects of drugs. It is a question about what the OP should do about a situation involving his family. The drugs are secondary.
Family relationships = S&A.

My girlfriend is clinically depressed. She recently started taking anti-depressants, and now she is a functioning and happy human being. I would say that, under the right circumstances, they do make people happy. It's only those people who are already happy who get fucked up by them.
