Be There For Her
Would it be morally reprehensible to set up an RSS line on facebook to notify me when certain girls change their relationship status to "single"?
I don't regularly check this. I usually even forget it completely, until I stumble across it, because I'm not too interested in it anyway. The thing is, when I do, I'm usually disappointed to find out that a girl I have met previously is still with someone. There are maybe five or six girls I would want to "be there for" in their time of need.
Would anybody consider this weird? If so, in what context? I believe it is a very normal thing to feel frustrated when someone you like is seeing someone else. Of course, I would draw the line at the point where anyone would take it one step further than shrugging it off, forgetting about it for a while, moving on and such. I consider myself a reasonable logical and intelligent individual, and think it wouldn't be too peculiar. After all, isn't that the reason RSS was created? to centralize all the information you want to see?
Feedback?

Re: Be There For Her
Sorry, I kinda laughed at your post dude, you seem overly concerned with technology mate, why don't you just get to know the girl... I don't know how facebook works, I use bebo, but why don't you just send her a comment every now and again, progressively increase it, get to know her better, then maybe if something happens in her current relationship she'll let you know, rather than you setting up your little RSS feeds to let you know who's taken and who's single.
Haha, just chill man.

Re: Be There For Her
In all honesty, I likely won't do it. I don't even think facebook is in .xml. The notion just crossed my mind today, and I was curious about what others would think of it.
To point this in a more productive direction, don't limit the discussion to facebook or RSS. Any discussion on technologies that impair or improve relationships is encouraged.

You should set one up to monitor the obituaries and find some widows man.

Re: Be There For Her
That's fucking amusing. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. It's no different than trolling facebook manually for single girls, just more efficient. I don't like being a rebound guy, but if it floats your boat then it sounds morally fine to me.
