So you spend a while in depression... withdraw from people, feel lonely, barely make it out of bed in the morning (if at all). Then one day you find someone who makes you happy; someone you just like being with. It makes you feel a little better, gives you hope, all that crap.

Then the old ex-girlfriend finds out, and you get an earful. You're a terrible person, how could you get over her, you were supposed to wait till she were ready for you again, you were supposed to stay depressed longer before moving on, etc...




If you break up with someone, and especially if you tell them they need to move on, why do you get mad when they actually do? It makes no sense. It's the exact opposite of what's logical. It's Bizarro Logic. WHY???

Normally I wouldn't be so harsh, and I'd say that she did still have feelings for you - but the way you described the end of your relationship, her saying all sorts of derogatory things towards you - it indicates to me that she really had no attraction to you anymore, perhaps attraction - but certainly not love for or attachment to you.

It's an ego and power trip.

She can get rid of you just to make you feel like shit because you'll miss her and love her and shit. She can go do whatever she wants because she has the power to do so.
While she's at it, she can dangle possibilities of getting her back in front of your face like a carrot on a stick for a donkey. She has power over you and your emotions.

But when you've moved on and become happy again, you've taken the power away from her and bruised her ego. She doesn't like that.

My advice to you (coming from someone who's been through this a couple times) is to rub it in her face.
Do NOT sound angry when you talk to her. That gives her some power. I learned that the first time. It feeds the emotion trolls.
When she gets all in a tissy about you moving on and getting over her, just smile and say something like "I was waiting for you and hoping you'd want me back. It hurt so much not having you but then so-and-so came along and now I'm happier than ever. Every day just seems brighter knowing I can sit and be with her. And I know she loves me too. Can't you be happy for me?" Sound really soppy and loved up and shit. That'll really piss her off.

And if you really wanna be a bitchy little fucker say "Sorry but I only see you as a friend"

ive done it preemptively.. maybe thats why girls aren't attracted to me. they aren't ready for a man yet, and ive never needed anybody to help make me one (see: i'm no fun). all thats left is those that know how it is, and they're bored/boring/jaded/don't think i can handle it/think they know how i operate (i hate false pretenses). Then theres a handful of wonderful girl creatures that i don't understand. when i turn 21 i hope ill find our bar scene suitable to me.. or im shit out of luck here.. the younger generation seems to be more on top of it so theres still hope, but i don't plan to stay.
