Getting the girl I love back...
Hello everyone...
I feel kind of embarrassed by even posting this thread, because in my mind I see it as something that I should stop whining about and just forget it and move on, but for some reason I can't.
I've been dating this girl for a while now, and recently it just began to fall apart until I decided to call it quits with her. The whole thing ended up with her in tears, and me feeling terrible about what I did...
This whole thing happened about 2 months ago, and recently we've been rekindling our relationship. She tells me that she still likes me, and may be in fact in love with me. I don't think she'd use the word "love" lightly, so I guess she's pretty serious about what she says...
But there's another "roadblock" in the way. My friend is now moving in on the girl at the same time as I'm trying to make this work again. He knows how I feel, and yet he still does it. I know all he wants from her is sex, or something physical and it makes me so mad (no I will not kill him/beat him up).
I just don't know what to do. I'm so lost. One of my close friends told me that she's simply taking me on a "ride", and really doesn't have feelings for me anymore (but this was just his guess), and I don't know if I should believe it or not. I don't think she's the type of person who would do that to me.
Any advice on how I should try to get her back?
Thanks everyone...

Re: Getting the girl I love back...
She loves you... Give her flowers, tell her how much of a mistake you made and explain to her how badly you want her to be your girl again.
And kill the friend. Seriously.

They're giving good advice tonight.
Don't kill the friend though. Seriously.
Mind if I ask why the relationship fell apart?

Indeed. This could be important. :)
Ugh, I fucked up so badly with my ex tonight, so I'm just going to live through you for a little while, k? :(
Tips: (may not apply to you in the least)
Don't fuck any other girls at this point
Don't get needy
Don't get emotional at her
If she won't take you back, do move on
Don't yell at her if she does get with your buddy

Re: Getting the girl I love back...
For the girl: Give it a try. Take into consideration both sides of the story. She may actually love you and want you back but then again you're close friend may have a point (seeing as they wanted to raise it) and she may actually not really have any feelings for you and be leading you on.
I say give it a try and see what happens. If it goes well, keep going. If it looks like she's playing you for a mug, fuck her off out of it mate.
For the friend trying to get the girl: Foot to ass. Literally.

Outstanding.
Truly studpendous.
As for the original post the friend doesn't sound like a friend to me, and, honestly, doing anything overtly influenced by him and his action would reflect poorly on you as it would show that you a)even consider him a threat in your pseudo-relationship (which has the potential to make both of them consider that a possibility if they haven't), b)show your insecurities as a person, in general, since you don't have the confidence in yourself to make her yours, c)show an almost disrespect to her, in that you believe her to be the kind of person to tease up your heart only to fuck your friend instead.
And many more, but the basic message is this: when it comes to winning the affection of your lady fair, it should be about you, and her. Letting anybody else play such a significant role displays how much responsibilty for your life you have, and what kind of role you play in your own affairs.
As far as the story of you and her goes, the star should either be you, or her. Don't be a footnote in your own fucking life, mate.

Re: Getting the girl I love back...
Nice advice ILTL.
In regards to the friend...Let him be for now...Wait for the outcome of you and the girl (whether you get her or not)...Then let foot meet arse.
He must learn why it is wrong to disrespect you.

Re: Getting the girl I love back...
Thank you guys so much for the help... It all made sense to me.
They're giving good advice tonight.
Mind if I ask why the relationship fell apart?
We started to grow apart for a while, and she was having second thoughts on whether or not we would work out. The love between both of us has always been there, I know that for a fact. She has been going through tough times (recently found her father after not knowing him his entire life... Over Myspace none the less, and the guy turned out to be a real jerk off), and her family is also treating her like shit.
I'm just going to show her how much I care about her. I won't let the outside (being my friend) influence how I act towards her. I will be the person that I am, and not let anyone else affect it.
Thanks so much everyone... If someone else has anything to add, feel free to do so and I'll respond when I get back from class today.
