Urgh.

I'll keep this short.

I fail with chicks. I can't ever work out if they like me or not, I suck at flirting, and just generally fail. Hell, some chick who I really like and been talking to loads recently invited me to a gig on thursday cos she doesn't want to go by herself (and even offered to pay for my ticket), but I think she's just doing it as a friendly gesture. And she has a boyfriend anyway who she "loves and misses".

And any other chick I fail with as well, maybe I'm too shy or whatever, or I'm just a shit human.

I was an awkward teen but a fun drunk... most of my teenage accomplishments were while intoxicated. I grew out of my awkwardness gradually with age (and now I'm irresistable :p )

if she's a really good friend talk to her about it, well the part about you failing with woman maybe she can help you out a little bit being she knows you and what not. otherwise no one on a message board can really help you but maybe she can give you some pointers or training... don't fear the pitty either... its sometime a good thing ;)

I sorta have the same problem. It's a combination of that and the fact that I am waaayyyy to shallow. Once I actually know she likes me, I just end up finding something wrong with her, physical or whatever, and I tell myself that she isn't good enough because of that. Ugghhhh

I find detaching myself is useful. Being witty and a bit of a smartass is useful (time and place though. common sense). Think of it: Worst case scenario is that you screw up flirting with a girl. No problem! Just try again another day, or try a different girl.

There's no secret to it. Just be charming and witty. And even if you don't dress excellent, at least make sure you look something like a human.
