When I left for training, GPP was modded by TheAtomiser, Kai, and myself. I appointed Yoyobek to help with the upkeep while I was gone, because I trusted her.
So off I went. Seven weeks with GPP left with nothing but me hoping it'd be okay.
So anyway, I come back, Kai is gone, and Township Rebellion, Toraton, and Rabbhimself have joined the fray. Soon after some checkup, I learn of a lot of conflict between the mods. They all seem to disagree with each other's methods, and have come to me, as that forum's senior mod, for help. I've tried making things work one way or the other, but it leads nowhere. Continuing conflicts and opinions are tearing GPP from what it used to be.

So, after a lot of thought and investigation onto the matter, I've come across a decision. I've requested that the administration remove all of my partner mods from GPP. In time, I will make a decision on who I think would be best for that area.

I like the way you think. I think this solution is absolutely fair and within reason. I've already made the changes as you may or may not have noticed.

And just so everyone knows, this does mean that Township is no longer with us. We will keep him in mind when finding moderators for other forums (or GPP, if Xip requests) in the future. He was a good guy and I'd wouldn't mind having him around - now's now the time, though.

As a parent i can sympathise with your decision...the 'getting nazi' or the 'if no one 'fesses up then you're all...' school of parenting.

However

It worries me that such a gaggle of mods (what is the collective btw?) couldn't agree among themselves as to how to mod the forum and who should go for the sake of the forum etc.

Good call, fair decision but shame it had to come to that.

Thank you all for your support and recognition.

Depending on how I see things in GPP, the former moderators are my priority selection when it comes to me making a choice as to who I believe would be best suited for that forum, but at a highest chance would be Township. The other mods have other forums to work with aside from GPP. If Township asks about his position or chances of him getting back on, for anyone who actively speaks with him, please let him know that he's a priority select.

I was wondering what happened in GPP, to echo everyone else: good decision.

It's as jackketch said. Essentially, the moderators couldn't agree amongst themselves and tensions rose. To avoid any sort of escalation between them as well as to avoid a higher recognition of their conflict from the threads and posts in the forum itself, I made this request.

I agree whole-heartedly. As simple as it sounds, its true that we're a moderation 'team'. We work together with trust, honesty, and respect for each other's decisions, opinions, and privacy, without unfair judgments towards each other. If those things are compromised, how can we be expected to make fair choices and decisions that benefit the people that come here every day?

Believe it or not, there are several hundred, sometimes thousands of people viewing this forum at any given time, and its up to us to make it look presentable. When visitors come and see the staff calling each other out on the forums publicly (Not implying that it has happened, but as an example), it really gives this forum a negative reputation.

Sure it's just a website, it's just a forum. But a sidewalk is only a sidewalk with no second thoughts about it unless it gets so trashed and broken down that people will make the mental decision to avoid it.

I'm sorry for going on a rant, there, but its how I've been feeling about the place lately, and I just had to get it out. Also sorry to all the prior GPP mods if I've made you feel as if I were targeting you or putting you in a spotlight. I didn't mean to. If you've read it, thanks.

Pretty much says it all. Once again I'm grateful to mod a forum where the mods see themselves as a team and simply work together no matter their differing, often violently differing views (S&A I mean).

I'm kind of glad this has happened.
Even if you're not buddies with your mods you need to be able to talk to them and not hear things from other people first.

It saddens me to see Rabbhimself and Township_Rebellion removed, they are brilliant mods.

I say right now I'll instantly sacrifice my place as a mod of GPP, as much as it may hurt, to ensure that the two mentioned above mods are re-instated on the forum.
However, I do not extend that offer for Toraton as well.

But I'm glad Xippili is now back here to sort shit out.
I dont know what went wrong. :(

Yeah, I'm quite surprised how it kind of went downhill, being the moderator of a forum I spend most of my time in really gives me a different view of it.

I guess it's nice to see how things are done (or at least should be...Hell I'll be the first to raise my hand and say I made some 'noobish' mistakes), but I'll do so because I'm one to learn from my experiences.

At the same time I guess I'm kind of saddened that it went downhill for the time it did; you say "it's just a website/forum", as true as it is, it's also a community, as mods, we play a big part in...So conflict between us can't be good *gets everyone together for a group hug*. Either way, mod or not, I'll still be posting as much as ever in there.

As for Township, I know I'd hate to have my modship removed, I'll say that without a doubt, but unfortunately based upon what I've seen, (or not in this case) I can't give an opinion on him, I guess XiP knows him better.

I get on quite well with yoyo, she's been a great help, and aside from the minor conflict I still have a lot of respect for Toraton.

Been a pleasure modding with you guys (and gal) :)

Just someone make sure that Township knows why it happened. I think he'll figure it out when he notices that everyone else is gone too, but I'd like to make sure he gets a copy of this thread if possible. Or if someone wants to email him and let him know, that'd also be cool.

Ahhh Rabb, you of the slender sexy thighs of a Japanese school girl, your lilting voice and love of Sony.:)

You're a good poster, which I've known for ages, which is why I reccomended you as a mod there.
Township also, I've seen post alot of good stuff in GPP. It's a little rough on him because he wont be able to access this forum to see wtf is going on. Unless it's a problem I'd like to forward this thread to him.

It was allways understood that I was only a temporary mod of S&A, but I'm not willing to leave just because Toraton threw a tanty and got us all kicked off.

But as I said, if Rabb and Township get re-modded, I'll happily give up modding that forum if it will allow them to continue modding there.

Allthough I do wish someone would shut up the horrible gloating idiots.

We're all adults here (well I'm only 17, but still), we should be able to help each other out :)

One of your fellow mods had a problem and brought it up with the "senior" mod, I don't understand why Yoyo would choose to berate him for trying to fix a problem, it seems so...childish.

Everybody is childish sometimes. I did a handstand a few minutes ago.

It's not a big issue and it's done. Nothing in GPP was going to stay the same. The situation was always temporary. No moderator within the forum did something wrong to get people removed. There was simply too many moderators within the forum. Moderators provide a service. You don't need half a dozen moderators to do the job of two. It's simply a fact.

*five*, five active mods. One of whom is a hobo, one who enjoys the beauty of dressing in womens clothing and waxing his testicles (please, dont destroy my dreams),one who seems to own half of Totse and likes chocolate milk (no comment),one who's busy doing real life CounterStrike training, and one psychotic bullimic who's not dissimilar to the sweedish chef in The Muppets.

I think between us, we just about make one whole sane mod!

Communication within a forum is vital. If you're going to ignore the person/people you have a problem with, and not even tell them what the problem is, how can they hope to change it?

People in this thread are going to be biased by personal relationships with other people. It's going to be hard. I hope the conversation remains professional and people dont get pissy just because someone else dares to say something mean about one of their buddies.

The problem was that there were too many moderators. The problem was discussed and solved.

Communication between the moderators of a forum is mostly unnecessary, especially in "private". If you don't hold the same ideas for the forum, then there is going to be conflict. The more people, the more opportunity for conflict. The only time I talk about totse with my co-mods is to chuckle at something. It's key to forum stability that moderators have the same attitude toward the forum they moderate.

Toraton is my nintendo hero.

And that coming from ME is something. There is no one on this forum who will give toraton more shit that me, and I think he was an EXCELLENT choice for GPP.

What worked so well with Kai, Atomiser, and Xip was that they knew a shitload about gaming, AND were not on their high horses about modding. There should be something learned from that.

On a relatively major bump, When will Toraton and Rabb be re-modded in GPP?

I may have some issues with Toraton but he's still a good mod usually, as much as it bugs me to say it.

Xippili is a great mod no doubt at all,but it'd be nice to have some of the guys back to modding GPP, if issues have been sorted.

There are several people that I'd love to see GPP. However, its too many to pick from, and too good of choices to pick between.
Rabb, Toraton, and Bek are of course in my mind. Then there are a handful of GPP regulars and a few personal friends of mine.
Of course, I'd like Stormy to help out in GPP, but of course that would raise moral questions from everywhere, as well as the inevitable "You only got the suggestion because you're married to Xip" thing. I remember there being a similar conundrum with the religion forum, and the mod having trouble closing a thread due to it being seen too much as a religious bias.

I'm in a bit of a tough spot at the moment. Right now I'm just continuously looking at posts in GPP for those people so I can stabilize a decision.
