It depends on age, race and how ugly the man is.

Facial hair can cover up some uglyness.
Older(40+) men look good with beards(more distinguished)
Younger men(20-30s) can pull off goatees.

I think mustashes are the worst and hardest to pull off for white guys. Darker skinned people are better at pulling it off.

I assume most women dont like sideburns.

Again....it all needs to be neat/tidy. Not all over the place like he hasnt showered in a week.

The look in Australia right now for facial hair is actualy in about the same coverage area as in that picture but only grown enough to be a couple mills. I have a Scotsmens beard and a Russians hair :)

Whether they do or don't, they at least need to know how to keep it trimmed and even. Not just "cut short" but sculpted also so you don't just look lazy and messy.

Yes, yes it is. I have a clean cut look and a bit scruffy facial hair that is kept really really short (maybe 1/4 centimeter) but still clean cut. I have one girl told me it tickles her and she doesn't like it, but well... she didn't last now did she?
