How to stop being so clingy?
There's a girl I go to school with. We became friends, I started talking to her on msn. It went downhill from there.
She was ok to start with, and we had awesome conversations, but then she started avoiding me. She started needing to 'do the laundry' more and more. My insecurity with her worsened.
Yesterday I was talking to her, and she told me she had to go because her mom was shouting at her. I'd been in the middle of a story and she goes 'i really have to go, my moms shouting at me. Tell it later'.
About 10 minutes ago I looked on her facebook profile and she updated her profile 15 minutes after she 'had to get off the computer or her mom would kill her'. I was on through that time, and for like an hour after.
So I know that my insecurities are justified, she is avoiding me. But it confused me because she keeps telling me I'm awesome and funny and that I shouldn't ever change.
So it made me look at myself and see what was going on. The only thing I could think of was that I was coming on too strong, and she needed breaks from me, but wasn't repulsed by me (yet). i.e I was way too clingy, and i didnt even realise it. i was on every night, and she was always the first person to end the conversations.
What do I do? I don't go out much, and I'm still going to be on like every evening. I've blocked her for now, but everything in me is telling me to wait untill she comes online again, and basically confront her. I want to feel like she still likes me, but at the same time I know that's the worst idea in history and would make her dislike me more.
So yeh against everything my body is telling me, I've blocked her and am going to go on in like 5 days and tell her i've only got 20 minutes to chat, because I'm going to a party or whatever. Then block her again.
Is this a good idea? I could do with not losing this girl. She's a really nice girl, and I want to stay friends with her. I'm not even attracted to her, which is what makes the situation strange. But then I'm not attracted to many girls I call friends.
Being desperate sucks. The worst thing is that people can smell it. I wish I could peer into her mind and find out what she thinks of me, but I just can't.

Don't lie about your life, that will only make things worse. If she gets to know and like you for qualities you don't have then i'm afraid there's guaranteed heartache down the line.
Don't block her, don't lie to her, just talk a bit less often, be a bit less enthusiastic and generally back off a bit. You'll be fine.

Re: How to stop being so clingy?
You are a fucking retard.
You're online all the time, don't you think she knows this already? If you block her for twenty minutes, don't you have any mutual friends that might just mention that you're online?
And why are you trying to give her a false impression of you?

Don't play the same game she is... she's being a selfish little bitch, leading you on. If she were interested, she wouldn't be doing the shit she is. You're in the friend zone.
Wait a second, what do you want from this? You're not attracted to her? It sounds like she's not even good friend material...
I don't know, your situation confuses me. But she sounds like a ho. And you should probably go do something with other people, in person, rather than on the internet. That way, you can meet other people through those people and find some real friends.
I just read what I wrote and it sounds kind of mean, but it's not supposed to be. I don't think you sound clingy, don't blame yourself for something that isn't your fault.

Re: How to stop being so clingy?
I don't even know what's going on...
I'm just so scared of losing her, you guys don't even know.
She's not a bitch, or a 'ho', she's as polite as she can be about it. But she's still avoiding me.
It's obviously my fault. If I was a cool guy she liked talking to, why would she block me? I've done something wrong, and it's probably more proactive to figure it out and try to change it, than repeating it with the next person.
What can I do? I am so confused..

Re: How to stop being so clingy?
Accept the fact that she has other people in her life and can only extend herself so far?
Try it.
And stop thinking it is your fault. Just stop it!
I know she has other people in her life, that's not the issue here. She told me she had to get off the computer because her mom wanted to get on.
10 minutes later timestamps said other shit.

Re: How to stop being so clingy?
Your not going out with her and you'll never go out with her. You're probably just another guy friend to her.
I was like this to my first girlfriend after she broke up with me, it took me a while to accept it. I'd just be generally interested in her and would talk to her. I did this for about 3 months after, like as if I thought that she was the one and I was sure one day I would be with her again.
NOT HAPPENING
Avoid her, make new friends, find a new girl, or a couple and just make things happen

I don't want to go out with her.
Dating is retarded, and hugs>everything else IMO. I am perfectly happy with being 'just friends' with a girl if it means she still hugs me. This girl has a boyfriend, anyway.
And no, whoever it was who asked, it is none of my business what she does. But I am cripplingly insecure about this and I have no idea what to do about it.
I hate being like this. But my mind plays up, and fuck.

Re: How to stop being so clingy?
Get a hobby, and she might be a bitch, but then again, if somebody (even my best friend) was online 24/7 and always wanted to talk to me it would piss me off. people need space, even madly in love couples. so yeah, get a hobby, maybe a few more friends, I know you're just being friendly which is good, but tone it down a bit.

Re: How to stop being so clingy?
Here's an idea little buddy...Actually go out and stop being on the net all the time waiting for her. Go out and do some stuff. Get a hobby. Get a job. Get a dog. Whatever. Just get out of the house and do something constructive.
Do something you enjoy doing and really get into it. No way for your blocking plan to backfire.
Then when you do get back on the net just talk to her a little while then break the conversation off because you have to go do your thing again.

Maybe that's why she's put off? I wouldn't want someone all "Oh my god, she's doing this... hmmm.. what could it mean???" all the time and "No0o, it's my fault..If. Only. I. Was. A. Better. Person" in between sobs.
And just because one person doesn't like you it doesn't mean you're not a good person.
Grow the fuck up and stop being so paranoid, annoying and just BLEH in general.
And if you take this bad I swear to god I'll jump through the computer screen and gouge your eyes out, lol.
