Molosh, informed that he was infracted for posting a blank post that resulted in his ban.

Now normally, I would not question the actions of a fellow mod, for I try to see the best in each one of you and trust your judgment unless other affecting variables (such as trousersnake's general ignorance).

The thread may have or may not have belonged there. THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE.

The issue I have is that Molosh posted a blank post in a Ctl + V thread when he nothing to paste. This only makes logical sense to me. I strongly believe that he should not have been infracted for this and would like this to be cleared up to me. I am not trying to undermine authority, but this just really seems unfair. The content of his post was in regard to the content of the thread. He stayed in field, in my opinion. But that's just it, it is my opinion.

This issue was first brought to me by oddballz who just wanted to know whether or not blank posts were against policy as he is unsure. If someone could clear this up for oddballz and I, that would be great.

Just so you know, I will be feeding this information to oddballz. He is a mod, but does not have access to MA, just thought I'd let you know.

I'd say in the future, delete the post, but don't infract unless it becomes ongoing by the same person.

If that's your verdict, is it possible to get Molosh's ban lifted?

I lifted the infraction about 5 mins after I had given it cos I'm trying to bear in mind Zok's comments on nazi modding.

Although the fact he managed to get another mod whining about it here is worrying.

And to be clear for the new Mods: Even if you reverse an infraction, if it caused a ban, the ban will not be reversed. That can only be done by a Super Mod or up.

And don't feel bad Jack, chances are I would - and I have in the past - infracted someone for making a blank thread.

to be honest i had forgotten that reversal doesn't cancel a ban. But MLoR has taken care of it I think?

What about a single blank post? And ONE blank thread is ban worthy? Why is a single offense ban-worthy?

This kinda stuff should be discussed, even if it's just one poster's problem. Apparently iSoape and oddballz were both wondering what should be done when stuff like that happens, and now they know I suppose.

Blank threads, I agree. However, I fear you misinterpret the situation. It was a Ctrl V game thread which may or may not have belonged there, that's not what matters. In this thread a poster posted something he had Ctrl Ved previously which was nothing in this thread. So in the purpose of that thread, his post had content relevant to the overall thread. That's what my issue had been.

In this instance it was a single blank post used in context. Something I realised within one ciggy of having given the infraction. I reversed the infraction even before molosh ran sobbing to oddballz/isoape.

Had gmail not been on its rag then the ban situation would have been resolved asap. Because as soon as molosh had told me he was still banned, despite the insta- reversal, then I would have been on your ear asking you to please fix it for me.

Not quite sure what possessed isoape to post this thread ,without checking the facts or emailing me first, and I will assume what he really meant to say was "Supermods Please Help, jack reversed an infraction but the ban remains and its now very likely that jack has gone to bed and so can't ask you himself."

I'd hate to think mods would post here criticising other mods simply because one of their little msn-chums had been a bit butt hurt, especially when the situation had already been or was in the process of being resolved.

First of all I am not getting down on you, ISoape, but in the future perhaps trying to reach a Super Mod or an Admin via IRC or email might be better than posting here.

I only say this because there is already too much petty drama going on here.

I had an issue with a Mod [now an ex-Mod] but I emailed him to deal with it because I didn't want to bring more drama here.

I think things should only be brought here if other avenues of remedy have been exhausted...IMHO...

At the time, no one was active in IRC. I needed to get someone's attention somehow, so I shot for this idea. I made the thread then I think 7-10 minutes later MLoR showed up in IRC.
