Most awkward situation today...
At a meal, my (girl?)friend was talking to another friend of mine. This friend asked "So, are you two going out?"
Now, I wasn't really sure. We had already done pretty much everything with eachother, but I wasn't sure. I wasn't exactly sure what she thought. There was the distinct possibility that she really did just see me as a friend with benefits. But there was also the possibility that she did actually like me, and wanted to be in a relationship.
And me? I'm not sure. I just got out of one relationship, and I don't really want to be in another for a while. But at the same time, it's very comforting. She's not the girl of my dreams or anything, but she's cool, and I generally have a good time hanging out with her. Also, I didn't want to say 'no' if she really did like me, and I didn't want to say 'yes' and have her say something along the lines of "Heh, no we aren't".
So I said "Well, what do you think?" to her. This kind of annoyed her I guess, and she just said "Let's change the subject." But I talked it over with her afterwards, and she apparently does like me. So all is well.

Well it all turned out alright, but I would have said "oh, yeah" in a confident tone, smiled and looked over to her. If you are, then it was confident and stuff, and if it wasn't she would have just said with a giggle "heh, no, we aren't" in which you smile and chuckle a bit.
