Age; just a number? Something more?

What's the youngest a partner can be for any given age? I have heard some speak of a formula which is:

X/2 + 7 = Y

Where X is your age and Y is the youngest age that you may date.

What are your opinions?

This rule works better for me if I just plain divide my age by two.

i'm going to be 19 on sunday, and in theory, i wouldn't date anyone younger than 17. realistically though, 18.

i wouldn't go older than 23-24.

I never really got the whole age bit in dating, doesn't really matter to me. I usually judge based on maturity, but I'd say that a 3 years younger would be a fair limit for anyone under like, 21.

Idk, depends what the girl looks like...if shes 17 and looks 19 thats fine but if shes 17 and looks 15....I aint walking out in handcuffs.

heh... my youngest was 15 while I was 22... It did not work out, but that was because of my girlfriend... She found the age difference to large...

f both find the age difference ok, then there is no problem. I know of friends with a 20 year difference (26 - 42) and they are fine...

It just depends from person to person...

Robinhoody is a strapping, 20 year old male.

According to the common PedoRule, my lower limit should be (20/2)+7=17.

But honestly, I wouldn't go lower than 18. Too much risk, and I'm a paranoid person by nature.

My upper limit is somewhere around 45.

It depends on the girl. Not lower than 16 though. Fuck, most 16 year olds piss me off anyways.

It makes me happy cause I thought my 23 yr old boyfriend was a bit old for me. But apparently not. I'm 18... I would never date someone who was 16 though.

here the age of consent is 18 years old. i am 20 years old. for a relationship i would go as young as 17 years old. for just fucking id go as low as 15. if i saw a 14 year old who was unusually hot for being 14, id likely still hit it, but itd probably make me feel a little weird. but not weird enough to stop me.

I wouldnt go for a relationship with anyone under 20, for the simple fact the situations I've experienced the stupid boys have been so stupid and immature and selfish.
