What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?
The title is derived from a song written by the doors, as well as a greek myth about adoration to the point of ignoring one's own life. Both have a similar message as the lyrics from the doors say:
What are they doing in the Hyacinth house
What are they doing in the Hyacinth house
to please the lions......today?
I need a brand new friend who doesn't bother me
I need a brand new friend who doesn't trouble me
I need somebody.....who doesn't need me.
And in the myth of Hyacinth, Hyacinth is an avid fan of Apollo, so much so that he follows him wherever he goes, and will not leave him alone. To not misunderstand, in the myth, Hyacinth was adored by Apollo as worthy, but, eventually, the challenge was issued for a feat of strength between the two of a discuss throw. The friendship only ended when Apollo, in yet another act of showing off for the lad, tossed a discuss with god-like strength, only to have Hyacinth, in yet another attempt to impress the god of sun, dive after it, only to have it collide with his skull and kill the young lad.
This is the story they tell for the origin of the beautiful flower of the Hyacinth.
Now why do I tell this story in the midst of the totse sex and affection collective?
I tell this tale because, constantly, I see someone in need coming to totse with something resembling the axiom "women like men with confidence" and not understanding why they can't get their dick wet.
The reader should not now either dismiss nor cherish my teachings, for I do not wish to educate those who would be jerks if their self-confidence had not been robbed from them be other jerks. What I wish to do is to further enhance the enjoyable aspect of both sexes experience of each other, and to do so, I feel I must now address the forlorn male.
Hyacinth gave his life to impress the golen chariot driver, Apollo, and what good did it do him? He died, and we only remember him through another, and what good does it do him? So you should understand, already, that what I have to offer you has nothing to do with ascribing credit to somebody outside of yourself, and please venerate the information in yourself, in honesty, and understand that you, alone, can present to you the life that you wish to obtain.
Hyacinth presented himself to Apollo in a way that he envisioned Apollo would receive him, but not in a way that Hyacinth could present himself, truthfully. Should I have to expound upon my meaning in this sentence?
Hyacinth couldn't catch the discuss, but behaved as though he could, and as a result he died, shaming himself, apollo, and ruining his chances with anybody else.
In much the same principle you should present yourself in a positive light, but without over-stepping your boundaries as an individual, thus setting yourself up for failure and destroying all chances for yours, or her, happiness.
Succinctly put: Present yourself AS YOURSELF, then you won't have to lie, and you'll probably give those in your life exactly what you promised them.
