Question regarding the specification of copyrighted works
I wish to pose a question to Jeff so that I and my peers can perform our duties more effectively when it comes to totse intellectual property.
Foremost, I wish to ask specifically what copyrights and/or trademarks concerning totse are owned by the man behind Jeff's screenname. I could not locate any appropriate copyrights registered under Jeff* Hunter nor his supposed proxy Robert Szarka, and I trust that Jeff is %100 truthful when he says that he owns the rights. Therefore I wish to enquire specifically which these are so we know whether or not any posters wishing to publish some work of art contain it.
Secondly, I wish to enquire what would constitute fair use of said copyrights as per USC 17.1.107 (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode17/usc_sec_17_00000107----000-.html). Do t-shirts emblazoned with "totse" or related IP not commercially sold truely infringe on Jeff's IP rights? I'm not a lawyer, but perhaps Jeff has dealt with this situation in the past and knows his stuff behind it.
I dont mean this to be second-guessing Jeff's decision in the merchandise thread; I simply wish to know what is acceptable and what is not, especially in his opinion.

Re: Question regarding the specification of copyrighted works
It isn't enough to accept the man's decision?
How does this information help in moderating any of the forums on totse?

I'm kind of wondering the same thing.
Jeff ask that we don't try to profit off his site, I feel that we should support his wishes.

Re: Question regarding the specification of copyrighted works
I dont mean to this to sound offensive, but a person may be able to express his appreciation of this site through artwork under terms of 17.1.107 regardless of Jeff's wishes.
A thought did occur (and perhaps it could be a suggestion to him) that he not disclose what copyrights he holds so as to not divulge his name, even among a group as small as ourselves. I suppose that is his legal right, as owner of this site, to censor any talk about infringement of any rights remotely similar to totse.
In such a case, the words are clear cut in stone and I can do nothing but obey them. Everyone makes a big deal about how free speech is on this site, and I want to be damn knowledgible as to what is and isnt allowed.
PS: I knew well what I was getting myself into when I posed the question. I knew I'd get some flack and people are still edgy after the jeb incident. But I cant in good conscience leave Jeff's wishes open and ambiguous. Now is as good a time as any to ask because these events pop up all the time. It is a great disservice to the members when we must censor them needlessly because no one asked Jeff about it. I'll be the first to admit that I am a stupid sheep that needs to be told what to do.
