Anyway, I just met this girl about 2 weeks ago now and she's now in gr. 9 (when we met in the summer she was going INTO gr. 9 at my school and I'm already in gr. 11, but suppose to be in grade 10.) So I'm only 1 year older then her, she's 14 and I'm 15 and I really think I like her :). The thing is, I would wait another few weeks before asking her out anyway...but I just want to make sure I'm not being led on by accident or anything.

I tend to be pretty pessimistic when it comes to this stuff, so I think I will never get a yes if I ask someone out (mainly because I never have, girls asked me). But I am also a bit hopeful that the girls I like, like me back. I know that's not always the case. Anyway, at the end of our convos if we have a good talk and some laughs she'll put "<3" which isn't THAT big, but she doesn't do it all the time only when it's like a good talk. Some girls just do it all the time, which pisses me off >.> then I don't know if I should do it back so I just go "^_^" I try not to make a big deal about it, but she's also put me in her top 8...(yeah myspace isn't a huge deal but c'mon, she's 14.) Might I also say that she is REALLY smart for her age, the kinds of things I would talk about with adults or something. When we are at school, the first thing she usually does is hug me, and that's never happened before =/ normally I go to hug girls and they just take it, but she actually hugs. (when she's not rushing to class >.>) so I'm not sure...here is a summary:

If you expect some sense of accuracy in your predictions, you basically have to look at how she views you. Like in interacting with her and shit, if she seems to respect you a fair deal, or something like that. This is very intuitive, though, you're basically reading her emotions and where her attention is focused. And the ways in which girls express their interest may vary.

I find if you find her acting a bit "out of character" around you, perhaps as if she considers you more, or differently, than how she views/interacts with her normal friends. Most girls aren't easy to read, though, and I find it's easier to approach people with lowered expectations (highly critical and not too idealistic or hopeful in whatever relationship might become of this.)

Then you just tell her in whatever way you think she would respond to best. Being in person, confident and non-committal/somewhat casual in expressing your attraction seems a fairly successful strategy on most girls, but I'd go with my intuition since you're already friends with her. Just don't expect too much from her at this point.
