The more complicated answer is this: eventually, you'll learn to deal with rejection and be able to ask girls out and realize that when you recognize certain signs that it's not even necessarily a toss up but rather a formality. If you don't, then only drunken hookups that become relationships will work for you, or you'll always be the female in the relationship (i.e. you'll get picked up as opposed to picking chicks up.)

More importantly, how old are you? Chances are, it's something you'll grow out of with age, 'cuz it sounds like you're about 15 max.

Edit: Hanging out with someone doesn't necessarily make you compatible for a relationship.

Best way to overcome being shy around women is to stop thinking of the pussy aka putting the pussy on the pedastal. Trick your mind into believing she already denied you and only wants to be friends, and treat her as such. This will ultimately become your normal behavior and if you convinced yourself your never going to get laid with her so there is no point in impressing then you will be a whole lot more comfortable with her and yourself. Dont know it worked for me though.

That may seem hard, but just talk to her. Hang around more, but don't be needy or you'll look like a stalker. I never thought of it this way, but try what LSA King has said; pretend you've already rebounded and just wants to be friends. The more you talk, the easier it will get.
