Default is this a sign of pregnancy?

my g/f suspects she might be pregnant, (could have conceived anytime in the last 2 months).

last week she had her period, it was normal and lasted like 6 days but then it stopped for like 3 days and started back again bad and lasted just 1 or 2 days.

could this maybe indicate a miscarriage or something? shes had one before but not strange like this. she was also on some drugs, mainly opiates.

Why not ask someone who might actually be able to give you the correct answer..like a gyno?

Hmm yes..lets ask on an internet forum where half the posters still haven't managed to have sex with another human being yet.

listen man, i figured there might be a couple people who could point me in the right direction or might know wtf they're talkin about.

i live in east bumfuck middle of nowhere so i'd literally have to go like 100 miles to see a gyno and probly be on a waiting list for 2 months. health care is so shitty around here its insane.

so can anyone give me some help here? or at least give me a forum that might be more useful?

Oksies, in that case I'll leave this thread open (normally we close all 'medical' threads on principle) cos living in Western Bumfuck in the village of Upper Nose Bleed , I feel your pain.

I really have no idea, but I have heard girls (in S&A) talk about how periods can fuck around like that sometimes. Sometimes they come late for no reason and what not.

I also think that if she was pregnant she wouldn't have had her period AT ALL. I mean, a period is just the uterus wall shedding, how is a microscopic baby going to survive that shit.

If you have been having safe sex then I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe pick up a preg test or ask an older girl in RL.

periods screw around alot

usually when your younger, but ive heard of people who get weirded out periods regularly...i wouldnt really worry about it
if your pregnant you usually wont get your period at all...because the lining that breaks down to make a period is being used to house a little person
if your really that scared though get a pregnancy test....duh? Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

how old is your girlfriend? until you're in your twenties, your period isn't necessarily going to be as regular as clockwork.

can you get a pregnancy test? i know you said you live in the middle of nowhere, but any chemist should have one. the real question is are you ok to go in and buy one? small towns would suck.

If it was a miscarriage, I would imagine she'd know. I have heard that they hurt a LOT. The girl who told me this [and who experienced one herself] said she spent a full night in the bathroom crying while it was going on because it hurt so badly. Maybe that's not common, but I don't know.

But she's certainly not pregnant now, either way, so don't worry about it.

My girlfriend was telling me when she claimed she was pregnant, that "in most cases of pregnancy women get their periods for shorter amounts of time then normal." along those lines.

And here is a confirmation.

"Signs of Pregnancy

* Missing your period or having a very light short period.
* Tender and swollen breasts.
* Having to go to the bathroom a lot.
* Changes in mood and appetite.
* "Morning Sickness" -- nausea or vomiting for no reason, especially when you first wake up.
* Wet spots (discharge) in your underwear. "

If you want to be fairly accurate without a doctor test, get a home preg. test.

I'd say I doubt it. She had a period and then a few days of light bleeding. It could be as simple as two eggs dropping that month instead of one. If she were to get pregnant during that time, she would of had twins. =]

Another reason my be stress, weight loss, or weight gain. You said she does drugs, so that might have to do with it. Don't know though.

I'm sexually active, have safe sex, and I have messed up periods all the time. Even more messed up than that. Just wait till next month and see. If weirdness continues, it could be hormonal problems and could be fixed with small doses of birth control.

how do you have a period if you are pregnant? it would be a medical oddity.on the first line of missing your period i think it referrs to this.

http://birth.com.au/class.asp?class=6620&page=2

which would probably be the exception but its just different bleeding. a period involves a thrown away unfertilized egg. that link describes the threat of miscarriage. it also goes into early miscarriages and pregnancy hope it helps. worst off if you still cant get to a gyno wait a lil more and see if her cycle starts again. in the mean time if you dont have a supermarket or pharm near order a pregnancy test online to see if she is pregnant to begin with.
