second: girls have been taught by many many movies and tv shows and society at large how to deal with break ups. cry, eat ice cream and chocolate like a pig, watch sad romantic movies.

yeah, not all of us go for that in full swing, but it's usually there somewhere. guys have the issue where it's not manly to dwell over relationships gone awry, they shouldn't cry, just get on with life etc etc. girls don't have to fight that, they can just do what they want. also, girls' friends are supportive during break ups.

i just think that girls have more support during the break up process, and it's also ok for them to cry/be upset, so they can get over it in due time.

I've wondered about this a lot.
I think it's true that women are more in touch with their emotions than guys, as a general rule. Guys tend to be more apt to think logically and rationally and to suppress their emotions as much as possible. That has the unfortunate side effect of making it more difficult for guys to deal with emotional issues when they actually do arise.
This theory can also explain why women are so bad at things like operating machinery (i.e. driving) - they just can't wrap their emotional brains around something defined by entirely logical process!

Again, there are exceptions, and this is just a broad generalization theory of mine... :p
