I usually give people a few days to decide for sure after announcing that they want out. If it's something you think can be worked out, shoot me an email. But if you're really sure about it, then I'm sorry to see you go. You've been here for a long time and have contributed a lot to totse.

I still plan on posting in Go Team and MP from time to time, but I just don't really care to moderate anything anymore.

Thanks to Acidmelt for modding me in the first place. It was fun for a while.

That sucks, but it's certainly understandable. Hope you won't get tired of posting in Moving Pictures, at least.

Napoleon, did you have anyone in mind to take over in MP? No one comes to my mind except Jive Talka, who is probably there more than both of us and kate combined. Dunno if he'd be willing or if you and kate are opposed though. Just throwing it out there.

It's been good having your input on things in this forum, so it'll suck to see you go.

Ha, you won't believe it, but I was JUST about to ask the same question and suggest the very same person. :p

I won't leave you with a fake good bye NC, but good luck.

But Napoleon_Complex you're my favorite poster/mod, you can't quit.

Who else will bring me massive lulz AND get my movie references!?

I won't mind modding MP (it gives me even more of an excuse to make pop-culture references :P) but does Napoleon_Complex really need to be demodded?

Maybe give it a few days NC, no need to rush this.

I was thinking about this, and if not Jive Talka, then definitely consider desktopmunchies(I think that's how it's spelled). He knows a lot about movies.

It's not like I'm quitting totse, I just don't care to moderate anything anymore.

Which is the only reason I'm cool with it. I can completely understand getting bored and sick of doing it.

Like I said, it'll suck not getting your opinion on things in this forum anymore, but it's not a big deal if you'll still be posting.

I agree.
As a new, maybe " way too serious" mod here, I've been reading the threads in this forum all the way back.
You contribute a shitload of decent input in this forum, which would be a shame to lose.

To be fair Kai/Tru_Soulja stopped posting months before he asked to demodded.

At least Sam and NC will continue to post.

Ziv423 would be good as well.

I haven't looked at other forums aside from OI, Go Team, MP, and Politics in a while, so I don't know how he posts in other forums, but he appears to not be a good candidate.

hey .. newbie mod post alert:
this all seems like bullshit.
Meaning decisions in this thread appear to be based on one post.
why don't you all do a little homework and read a large number of posts before you make your decisions?
In Biology/Phsyiology , a well researched position requires about 30 references.
Too quick to decide based on little information is not cool.
Not that I could care either way , in this case.
But I have to wonder.

In this case, I think only one post is needed, since that one post specifically says "I don't want to be a mod"...

Pretty sure he's talking about the new Go Team! mod appointments.

n_c modded Go Team! for a long time and knows the posters there. It doesn't require any formal qualifications to mod it, just knowledge, and I think a recommendation from the forum's mod is enough for something like this.

There's a lot of discussion off-forum about mod appointments; mostly it goes on in the #mods IRC channel.

I hear you but to be honest most of us can get 'the measure of a man' from a few posts.

Remember the example was just that, a single solitary example.

I argue with my girlfriend about use of quotations.
She often says; you said this" quote ... unquote" , when in fact she's paraphrasing.
And in the end, her paraphrase often misses the meaning of my original words.

Here is the direct MexWanker quote from the linked thread above
:
"Thanks to YELLOWtrash and jesus_is_my_homeboy69 for voicing their support. I don't really care about being a mod."

which could mean he doesn't want to be a mod, or could mean he's too cool to declare he really wants it.
We all know declaring or asking to be a mod is often the kiss of death.

But in that thread he did point out another poster's valid input and suggested someone should followup on it.

"5. Cegstar's suggestion should be noted because it's a good idea.

So in a way, he was doing quasi-modding already.

Anyway, I read some of his other posts and didn't feel he was a wanker ... oh
wait.

To start NC gives his blessing toward modship and then two others do in another thread.
I just felt there needed to be more information gathered before making the decision.
And since that's how I do things, I added my two cents.

and JK, yes, I hear ya.
But, a few posts read is different than "one" post read, which is how I took the flavor of this decision.

In the end, I'm just venting a bit, so don't be offended. Food for thought and whatnot, is all.
