Penn's Woods
Default Moving on

I ended a serious relationship about two months ago, it was ended on mutual terms, we still remain close and talk everyday. We broke up mainly due to distance, and complications we both need to get over personally.

During the course of our relationship, as well as now, she was(is) afraid of commitment, I'm not talking marriage commitment, but serious we-will-be-there-for-each-other type commitment. Its not to say that we haven't been there for each other. She helped me kick two year long alcoholism, as well as quit using hard drugs on constant basis. She's cared for me through all my bullshit, and I would never ever walk away from her.

She's had a rough past. Her boyfriend before me left her on numerous occassions after some terrible things happened to her. I can't stand to see her down, it hurts me more than anything else in the world, and if there is one person I am true to ever in my whole life, it will be to her.

I need her in my life. She's my guiding arrow, keeps me from going off the wrong side, without her I'll be back at square one. I know she needs me too. We both feel empty without each other.

I don't know what to do anymore. I would like to move on, but I don't know if anyone can understand me like she did. I want to be with her, I don't really get what she means anymore though. She says she's afraid of me because I love her so much. When we were together, I gave her all the space she needed, I never ever hasseled her for anything, and took things as slow as possible. We have a chance to be together in a few months, I don't know whether I should try to be with her again or not. . I really just don't know anymore.

"She says she's afraid of me because I love her so much. "

Wtf?!?

She doesent sound deserving of your love. Mad

Do you think there's any chance she'll start to feel more love for you? Appreciate your affection?

If so, she might be worth the effort... but if she really just wants to move on and doesent have the heart/balls to tell you that, it's time to move on.

Which I know is difficult, and hard. But you will make it.
I know breaking up with someone who's been your everything can be destroying, waking up alone each day, going to bed alone each night..
But you will deal with it. All you can do is take one day at a time and try to stay on the planet and in your life as much as possible.

yeah i was recently in a similar situation with my ex, sounds almost exactly the same as yours, but i just decided that trying to keep her in my life was hurting me too much for it to go on like it did
