Here's the situation....

Earlier my girlfriend was over and I got on the computer to help find jobs(since shes needing a new job) for her and so she came and sat next to me on the couch. Then she asked if she could use it to check some stuff(since she just recently moved and doesnt have internet access), and as always, she gets on the computer and turns the screen to where I'm not able to see it then sits on there being unsociable for the next half hour.

I mean I understand she needs some privacy sometimes, but damn, with her whole part of her life besides with me, work, and family, she keeps it all private. If I'm around her whenever she gets on the computer, she gets pissed if I'm looking at the screen at all(even though I'm sitting right next to her) then turns it away so I can't see it. She does the same with her phone, when shes texting she makes sure to turn it so where I can't see it. If I ever ask when someone calls or texts and I'm just curious and ask who it was, she gets really irritated.

I mean, I'm not really a nosy person, but when she keeps texting back and forth to someone for almost an hour I get a bit irritated and wonder who it is and when I'm sitting with her and she gets on the computer and has to move to make sure I cant see the screen, it gets quite annoying.

Any advice?

talk to her about it. she shouldn't be that secretive. she's hiding something from you.

Yep...That's what it was like with my ex.

She would be all secretive on the computer, using my damn internet connection. Her phone was a no-go zone too.

One day I found out (being uber-L337, I had chatlogs! :p ) that she was on MSN "messing" with some guy from her college. She said she was just having a laugh with the guy but some of the things she was saying would have made a whore blush!

When I found that out, I went psycho on her arse. Things got smashed, screams were screamed and I went for the phone. I went through it and there were some "dubious" messages. I called the guy who she was chatting on the net to and basically said get your own chick or I'm coming for you!
Gave her a new SIM card for the phone and said change the number, sort yourself out and watch your fucking step or you can pick up your shit and get the fuck outta my house!

She didn't get to use the internet again.

I don't trust people who keep things from me. It's like, if it's not that important then why not let me take a little looksy to put my mind at ease?

Really and truly, pal I don't know what to advise. You can try talking to her about it and see if you can work it out but she'll immediately pull the trust card and things will get more difficult.

I say tell her how that makes you feel... if she has any respect for you she'll be sure to be more careful with things like that. Once I convinced my girlfriend that she can tell me anything, she started telling me anything... and it's a lot nicer than playing "guess what I'm thinking". I think if she starts being completely honest about small things like what she's doing on the computer, it'd be much easier for her to tell you much more important things in the future.

I actually used to have one on my old computer because I was taking Ambien for sleep and I hated having no recollection of the many conversations I had the night before.
