To kiss someone on impulse? (In your opinion.)

I was thinking about this last night and I feel really bad. Last night a friend of mine (who had mentioned that he wanted to be more than friends) took me to see Superbad, and I was kind of expecting him to kiss me, but he didn't. So when the movie was over and we were saying goodbye, I kissed him, he kissed back, but it feels wrong because he was terribly confused. And I get the vibe that he had no intentions of making a move. Perhaps I'm just thinking about it too much.

So, is it selfish to do what you wish without being totally sure that someone wants it? It's sort of like rape, to me. But then again it could be about taking risks.

Not selfish...You did what seemed right at the time...If it was wrong or right, whatever...You can't change it now.

You can only fix the situation...Be that letting him down gently or actually going out with him. It's your choice.

As long as you're female it's all right. Now, if you were male, then this would be a big issue. And the girl would most likely charge the male with molestation. Since you're a girl, then everything will be fine, because you're cute and funny, and that simple act was innocent, not sexually deviant in any way, as it would be if you were male, because all males are perverts and child molesters.

I’m in that situation right now with a girl (known her for years), and if we went out and she kissed me like that, it would be awkward for sure; because I wouldn't know what happens next. Which, I’m sure, was how he was feeling at the time.

If your having doubts about kissing him then you should let him down easy; you don't want to leave him in that transition stage for long because it will just get harder for him. You could always try again later. If you think that it's right.

And no its not selfish, you did what you considered right.

^ I actually am interested in him though, and I want to continue but I don't know how he feels about it. I know I made things complicated but it felt appropriate at the time. I don't want to make him uncomfortable, especially since we've only been hanging out for a few weeks. I guess if I would have thought it over, I woudn't have done it. It's not too big of a deal, but I was just thinking about it being selfish of me.

Well, go talk to him about it; he'll tell you if it was appropriate or not.

Your just making it out to be a big deal because of his reaction, so don't dwell on it. Just make sure you talk to him within the next few days or he'll really be confused.

Oh, and if it doesn't work out between you two, you can come hang out with me; I wouldn't mind being impulsively kissed by a beautiful girl.

Well, we talked not too long ago, and he didn't even mention it. So I take it he wasn't bothered. We're hanging out today and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it'll happen again, by how he was talking. (Ex. Saying how much he thought about me while I was gone)

Well if he had kissed you, would you think he was selfish? It's the same thing.
