I agree with the OP. The world would be less fucked up if parents actually disciplined their children (without being overly abusive, of course). Maybe there wouldn't be as many jackasses that have overly developed god complexes.

I agree. I know I'm not a parent, I haven't had to deal with it yet, but I'm disappointed in the parents of today. They never discipline their children, and then the kids turn into little assholes. My parents raised me well, and I respect and love them very much.

I couldn't even imagine treating them the way most younger children treat their parents.

I remember pulling shit like that though when I was little. I thought it was hilarious to put jars of marmolade and mini-eggs and whatever shit I could find just to annoy my parents.
