"We have to talk..."

Is equivalent to:

"I'm going to castrate you with a wooden cooking spoon, then make you watch it for three days on video."

I hate that line.
It's generally said by crappy english actors in crappy english soaps, and so people tend to say it alot in real life now to add to the drama or shit like that.

Never a good line.

Yep, you know the 'Oh John I really love you but there's this bloke I fancy...' bit is coming, sure as the pope wears a funny hat.

*wonders if anyone else still remembers and knows all the words to that song*

The thing that sucks the most is that she was a really good friend of mine. I'll see what I do tomorrow.

I got that last Friday...Turns out she thinks it's going too fast even though she's the one who started the whole "smitten with you", "falling for you", "have fallen for you", "love you" stuff.

It's a fucker coz I like this girl...But whatever...I was a little deflated the next day at work but that went away when I took a gorgeous girl I was working with out for a drink after our shift!

So yeah...Just keep your head high and be cool man.

It's just fucking annoying...

You like me, I like you, let's see where this goes and let it develop how it's developing.

Why do so many people have to label things (friends, dating, boyfriend/girlfriend) and play along to some kind of script/rule book?

We've all heard of love at first sight and shit like that...Why do these people feel like certain things shouldn't be said until a certain mark has been reached? E.g. Three months = falling for you. Six months = love.

Will the world collapse if something is said a little later or earlier than usual?

I've had countless problems with this "rule book." unfortunately, people don't readily accept the idea of "we like each other. lets date." no. at the level i am at (high school dating), you are subliminally required to "ask someone out." i use quotes because i abhor the very concept of this. its absolutely absurd. i wouldn't be upset by this if i'd never had the problem of another guy swooping in because i thought myself and potential partner too mature for such things...

i'm done ranting for now. and no, that wasn't about current things.

It doesn't get much easier after school. I'm 22, I go for younger and older girls and they all seem to be the same...

You gotta ask them out on a date...You gotta ask them if they want to be with you full time...You gotta ask too much.

When will people just say to themselves "Hmmm...Unconventional in my mind but this is feeling good...Let's do it!" and just get on with it?

Alright, since I made this thread I guess I'm a bit obligated to tell you guys how it went out.

We both met up and I tried to keep a cool head, walked around a bit, talked about that happened during the week(we hadn't seen each other for around a week), then we headed to 'our little place'.

We sat down and she told me straight away "Ok, you had something to tell me, go ahead", I responded with "No, you go ahead. I want to hear what you have to say".

So, long story short she pointed out a few mistakes I've made, things that annoyed her, plus she was having problems both home, work and at her uni. so it al sort of summed up for her and she just bursted. At this point it's really awkward because I felt the urge to comfort her, but I wasn't sure if this was 'it', I said fuck it and I hugged her and tried to calm her down.

Then I talked to her about how I felt about things she did, that she didn't notice, but annoyed me. So, we both put everything down on the table, all our feelings and thoughts, and at the end of the day I think we are better than we were before.

It wasn't such a big deal, I guess I always blow things out of proportion in my mind. Meh, but that's just me.

And about following that 'rule book', that's the last thing we're doing. Hell, neither of us are sure when we actually 'started dating' , we just started going out and we liked each other. Period.

PS. Women have incredible memory, EVEN when they are slightly drunk. BE CAREFUL with what you do, it might come and bite you in the ass in the future. ;)

Unfortunately, they probably won't.

M_C, that's great, man. it's good that everything has been laid out on the table. hiding things will bite you in the ass if you're not careful while arguing.

I guess we all learn from our mistakes, so:

2 big things she really didn't like:

1) We were chatting on MSN and I just made a comment that it's cool, yeah, lets go out. But I don't have much money. She interpreted it like if I was concidering her as a 'cost' to me. Which was completely not the point of the comment, but w/e.

2) I gave her a perfume I had bought as a gift for my previous girlfriend. -_-

and I had told her I did, a long time ago, before we were even together. She remembered. And yeah, that was a real jerk thing to do from my part, but I really didn't do it with a bad intention.

Glad it went well for you Cipher. It's always good to hear a happy ending when the dreaded "We have to talk" line is used!

I came to work this evening and the chck who said that to me last Friday was here.

I smiled at her and said hey...She smiled and said hey aswell...Then she was gone.

But I got a text message about half hour ago saying "You know I still love ya right? Last text."

And now I got a missed call...She wants to talk...How sweet! :p

EDIT: And I called her back...To hear her tell me how much she loves me but can't trust me but really loves me and would do anything for me...And she was crying through most of it. I am really really really fucking confused!
