I live in a small town and recently meet a like minded girl. She and I wish to hang out (read: I do not want to seem forward/don't know her quite that well in person ) some time but our options are somewhat limited. I am 18 and never had a girlfriend. She and I are both very nerdy and share similar interests. She is, from what I can extrapolate, more intelligent and some degrees less socially inept than I. The only options I can come up with are movies, food, and a gaming cafe that she frequents but I have never been to because I have all my gaming needs fulfilled with my home setup. The gaming cafe could be awkward because because we have different taste in games (Me CS:S, single player PC RPGs vs Her WoW, Halo) and a gaming cafe is not the most social thing in the world. So what options are the best options for 2 nerds in a small town? Usually with my friend the best source of nerd entertainment is at my house, but its kinda strange to invite a girl I at the level I know her over to my house, its kinda creepy.

take her to see Super Bad at the movies. If you both enjoy different types of games, go with her to the gaming cafe and tell her the winner should pick the next game, let her win some of the games, and but act really cocky, like you're the best. this way she'll be able to tease you when you lose, and you can tease her back, it's sorta a immature game people like to play. from there, you can offer to treat her to the internet cafe or movies some time.

The movies is always a good choice.

Got a TV and xbox (360)? Course you do. And you have halo (2) right? Good. Ask her if she wants to come over and hang out. Maybe play halo. Its only strange/creepy if u make it strange/creepy. Just hang out and have fun.

If you ask her over in the middle of the day with a line like "I have x-box bla-bla-bla, wanna come over?" Then it shouldn't be too creepy.
