telling the girl i like that i just want to be friends.
right, so my best friend is this girl called "Michelle", This girl was my best friend for aboot a year but eventuallyt my feelings for her became more than that. She had a boyfriend, theyve broken up but still live together due to financial shit.
So heres the rundown. 2 months ago I finally was able to summon up the courage to express my feelings to her, and to my surprise she shared the same sentiment. Now I've only been in 2 relationships and both were started by the girl in a sexually forward way (i.e. I meet them one day and 3 hours later we have sex, relationship ensues) this is the only thing I've ever known and making moves and the like is not my forte.
So we both know we have these feelings for each other but I keep getting mixed messages on what to do. I hear from friends that she really likes me and that I should jsut kiss her but the situation is NEVER right, or she'll tell me a story about a guy who wanted to pick her up but is the end didnt and then that really disappointed her(kinda similar dont cha think) she seems to be into the more mature guy her ex ( the one shes living with) is 36 shes 18 im 20.
Anyway, I just am at wits end with this whole damn thing so I've decided (most likely against better judgement) that Im going to tell her straight up that.
A. I like her but,
B. I don't think Im the kinda guy she wants to be with.
C.I still want to be friends.
So tell me totse, does this have any chance of working?
Is there a better way I could do this?
I'm just at a loss.

Re: telling the girl i like that i just want to be friends.
If you just want to be friends, then don't make a move. It's pretty simple. Don't lead her on, just be friends with her, and if she makes a move, then tell her you just want to be friends. Or, since you like her, you could just go with it. But christ, it's not difficult and it's not a big deal, relax.

She's 18 he's 36..?
It sounds like she has financial problems perhaps and simply doesent want to piss off her meal ticket?
If you dont want the situation to go any further, simply dont say anything about it.

Story of my mother fucking life. Multiple times. Each one more painful than the last.
The sad thing is... I was lead on too. THEY KISSED ME! WHAT ELSE WAS I SUPPOSED TO THINK!?
Sorry, kind of went off on my own there..
Why do you women pain me?

kinda update: talked to some more friends last night they are convinced she likes me....buh.
the biggest problem for me Is that im very submissive and for me to "get out there" is a very tricky one indeed.

Because they tell you she likes you does not mean so!
This part is included in that same girl = best friend story I hinted to in my earlier post.

Avoidance is your friend here.
If it looks like the situation is going to turn towards romance or something, change the topic. Sneeze, coughing fit, sudden flare up of herpes...Whatever.
If, however, it does come to pass that the situation is unavoidable, just tell her straight out why you would rather be her friend than her lover.

Re: telling the girl i like that i just want to be friends.
My experience did not turn out well. I walked out of their lives and took 6 months to get over each case. It was very sad and depressing.

thats what Im trying my hardest to avoid, I really like this girl, as a friend and more. The thought of losing her as that is "unacceptable"
