There's a NEW Mexico?
Default Shedding friends

I'm the kind of person who likes a select few friends, and even then I don't hang out with them all that often.

But I find that because I dabble between different kinds of groups, there are always a lot of people that want to hang out with me that I could care less about. However, it's not that I don't like them. I just want them to not bug me.

So my mission is to find a way to not want to hang out with me without having to resort to telling them the cold truth or spreading a vicious rumor about myself so as to make me less appealing.

Okay, that same person (which is like 3 people doing the same thing) calls the next night, and the next night, and the next night.

Somebody messaged me today saying "so when are we going to hang out."

I do that all the time.

tell them its not a good time for you, and you need a few weeks or even months to sort something out. tell them you're on parole, and you cant go out without someone watching you for a while. this is the best idea i got, maybe i'll report back some time.

Never. Fuck off.

Trust me, if you start being a dick to everybody, you'll have no friends in no time.

I guess I didn't make it quite clear that I'm trying to look unappealing as a friend, not a dick.

Parole, sounds like a good idea... At least the best one yet.

I've been thinking that alot of the people that want to hang out don't approve of drugs, so I could go hardcore druggie. Too bad I don't like drugs or the druggie friends that want to hang out either :(

I felt the same way when I was dealing drugs and dumbfucks would call me, buy drugs then wanna hang out and do them. One time a guy passed out on my floor so I emptied his pockets, took his hoodie and dragged him outside. Then I saw him at a party a couple months later and he wanted to fight me but the owner of the house wouldn't allow it because cops would definately come.

Point is most people are expendable.

You have the problem..of having too many friends?!
That's a new one.

You shouldnt have to put yourself out of people if you dont want to hang out with them. The cold hard truth may be too harsh, but certainly, if you dont like a person you shouldnt pretend to be their friend. It's like encouraging the stray dog, in a way. If you let it think you like it, it will follow you all the way home.

Are they really friends if you don't consider them to be? I shouldn't have to spend time partitioning my time for people. I have a bit of respect for hermits.

I don't want you to be right. Therefore, for now, I will ignore your opinion until I see a better one :P

:(

If someone wants to hang out with you, like really really hang out with you, and doesent seem to want cash/drugs/ect from you, then yeah, I'd consider them a friend.

"Friend" implies mutual feelings in this regard though, don't you think?

doesn't anyone use semicolons? Damn savages. Anyways, I say just live with it. I have many many many friends and I keep making more, I'm totally spreading myself out too much with friends, but hey I don't care. After high school it won't really matter, most of them you'll lose contact with anyways, and if you're not in high school and have THAT many friends, *Shrug* keep them around you might need them for something later on.

Well, my advice would be that instead of simply lieing to these people, who even though you may not consider them friends may still be reasonable acquaintances. Why not just tell them the truth? I can say for sure I wouldn't be too offended if someone told me that they just needed more space from their friends. well, so long as they said it politely and sincerely at least.

You'd be suprised at how understanding people can be at times, especially if you have the guts to tell them these things.

You sound a little like me except i just dont answer messages and turn my phone off a lot.

I like lonelyness but the friends i keep are kinda pretty cool people, maybe too good for me.

Anyway just be rude. However as you get older people who are rude become more poplular pretty often.Especially with women.

And this is probably the best advise ive read.
I guess you never know if the people you were rude to will fuck you over one day.

I too have found myself to do this and I'm not sure why. I think that once I feel like I have someone more or less figured out I get bored of them and kinda move on to the next cool person around. Anyway getoffmylawn that shit it funny.
