High School starts the 20th (In Sweden High School is 10th to 12th grade)

Now, noone from my previous school is going to the same school as me. Bummer huh.

The only people I somewhat know that might go to my school are the people from my 5th grade class. And I was the biggest nerd/weirdo/oddball/crybaby in 5th grade.
Then I changed and became somewhat popular in 8th grade.

This isn't just for me and my situation. Feel free to share whatever nuggets of know-how you may have.
Things you wish you could've done differently etc.

Erm...Just get to know people I guess. Get in with as many people as you can and see which scene you prefer.

You get a bunch of sociopaths together, force them into a rigidly structured government program, discourage individualism, supposedly say you are going to make functioning members of society out of them, ignore violence and mental health issues involving inmates, pretend like you never saw it coming when a riot/school shooting happens, be vaguely aware of gangs and drugs, etc.

So yeah, I think beating the biggest baddest motherfucker's ass is actually the way to go in both institutions.

Relax and be yourself. If you're chilled out and not trying too hard then it's much easier to say funny shit and not piss people off. Never snitch. Lend a hand, give out favors, but make it clear that you expect the same in return. Don't give more than you get, don't hit the girls, fuck the guys or mess with the dinner ladies and lastly, when it feels like you're life is going down the drain then use your despair in an attempt to party yourself to death. Makes you well known if nothing else.

I've found such people to be fascinating, smart, funny, and a hell of alot nicer than the fucking assholes who are called 'popular'.

Yes, they are regrettably often very cool and interesting people.
The coolest person in my old class (imo) was a chubby little guy with glasses who was incredibly shy.
But when you saw him in the corner of your eye so to speak, he was fucking hilarious and smart and witty and funny.

But the fact that being in a nerd clique prevents you from going to parties and getting girls and...well yeah.
I guess Im a bit shallow that way but, yeah.

I dunno, every geek party I've been to was just a LAN party. There was one guy who said he'd buy us beer (he was the only one over 18 at the time), I bought the cash for a case or two and he wouldn't get his ass away from warcraft to go get it. So, late at night I blew a load on his keboard. Next time I'm there I'm gonna get so stoned and drunk I plan on doing nothing.
Also, to add to how boring it was, this guys house is RIGHT ON THE FUCKING BEACH! (although it wouldn't get me in the water, nearly drowned there once, haven't gone into the ocean since)

High school was pretty cool for me. I almost graduated, usually had a GF and money, was widely known as a crazy and rather intimidating person and got wasted pretty much everyday. I sold cigerettes for .50 each and made at least $20 a day at school.

My advice to you, stand up for whats your whenever possible and people will see that and respect you also if you don't purposely spit on a girl you could probably bang her or one of her friends anytime yo get your game right.

I started 10th grade yesterday. It's awesome.

I choose to be alone, but since there's a lot of people who doesn't know eachother it's easy as hell to find some friends if you want to.

Bean this is my advice, and its exactly what I did in high school. This is for everyone.
Be yourself. I was one of the most poular kids in my grade because I wasn't in a clique. I hung out with everyone. Everyone excepted me for who I am. I wore a fucking Star Wars back pack to school. I went to parties, and lan parties. I knew everyone. If it wasn't for the school aspect, I'd totally be missing high school this year.
If someone doesn't like you for who you are, then they aren't your friend.

Marijuana. Smoke every other day for the first couple of weeks. You'll meet plenty of people.

Strangley enough I will vouch for this. Stoners are some of the easiest people to get along with and often the most accepting in my experience and from there its much easier to make other friends.

High school is easy. First, don't let people bully you. And thats about it. Maybe try to be the average guy for a week or two, to see which people you like. Then be yourself.

Smoking weed is great for meeting people, same with alcohol. Don't over do it though, I found that weed got old fast, and now I don't like it anymore.

The best way to get through high school is right here: Give up on all hopes of being happy during high school, because it isn't going to happen. Seriously, high school sucks for everyone. So just accept it, and the fact that you have lost all hope and are not trying actively trying to be popular/make friends/get laid can help you do exactly those things in the end. But don't count on it, or you'll get cocky, see? Stop trying, accept that you will be miserable, and let things come to you. Zen.

My last class was like that, and I would hang out with the nerds one day and the 'cool' (bleugh...) kids the other.

But always keep this thought in the back of your mind: Highschool is a load of bull shit. It's not the real world, and it doesn't matter in the least if you fit in or not. In fact, it's probably better not to fit in, the vast majority of highschool kids are immature assholes. Obviously not all of them, but a good chunk are. Well, in my experience anyway.

I came out of highschool with a total of 2 friends. My highschool was so cliquey and I just couldn't buy into it, so instead I kept to myself and hardly ever went to school. I still got honors though, lol. My social life was confined to a few close friends, most of whom attended different schools. But to each his own, right? If you want to fit in or be cool or whatever, that's okay too, just make sure you don't trample other people on your way to the top. Real popularity is if people actually like you, not when they're scared of you, or only admire you for your cool clothes/car/whatever.

High School is a chunk of wasted time.
A good majority of highschoolers suck in the first place, and even hanging around with the "cool" kids used to piss me off. They really have no idea what they're talking about, they think they're the smartest fucking people in the world, and they're usually ignorant cocksuckers who are looking for a quick fuck.

You want to be a "popular" kid? Act better then them. They can smell arrogance from a mile away, and if you do it right, they'll want to be your friend. Or try sitting around a smoking pot all day, and then start selling really good bud. Once word gets out, your phone will be blowing up all day long.

i go to an all boys prep school so idk how legit my opinion is going to be. But

1.) dont take shit from anyone. Anyone. If your sitting alone one day, and some kid who thinks hes tough shit comes over and fucks with you, punch him in the face. Unless of corse there are teachers around, or someone where you might get in trouble and then everything goes to hell.

2.) Be outgoing, but not to outgoing, If you into music, and someone has a shirt, with a band on it that you like too, go up to them and say "Oh you like _____? I saw them live last year, or whatever even if you havent make it up.

3.)ACcept anyone, if someone offers you a spot under their wing, take it. If its geeks fuck it. Dont get tied down in a clique though.

4.) Dont make it seem like you dont give a shit, but dont stand out too much. For example, dont sit in the front of the classroom, but also dont fall asleep everyday in class.

5.) Join some clubs, especialy sports. For me, i made alot of friends when i started fencing.

6.) dont forget about your 5th grade friends. Its time to show them that you changed, and that your cool now. Once your in with them, you can make friends with their friends and so on. This is what i did when i started hgh school last year. I made friends with my one friends friends. Its called networking

SO yeah idk some of these tips will work for you and some wont. Smoking weed isnt bad either, and if worse comes to worse, get artistic or creative. And make friends with cool teachers. it helps.

1). Be nice to people, unless they act like a douche to you.

2). Do more listening than talking... as long as you initiate the conversation, you are guaranteed to make friends. Everyone likes a listener.

3). ALWAYS.... ALWAYS!!!! ALWAYS!!!! Use a condom!!!

4). At least get your work done. It doesn't mean that you have to go the extra mile, but just doing what teachers give you to do will insure that you graduate with an average GPA.

5). Try and have fun. Life is a journey. Don't keep looking toward the destination, take some time to enjoy the road that you're traveling on.

Your first few days of school always seem like a blur. All I can say is before you try to get to know anyone, observe them. Try to peg what kind of person they are...

If you have probs with bullies then get a rotweiler and one day take it to school with you.

A lot of bullies won't actually do shit, the plan is to intimidate you/make you think they will do shit, and if you react to that, they get what they want without having to put any effort into it.

On the other hand, if you don't react, it's much easier for them to just find another person who will react without them having to get physical.

So my advice is, if someone comes up and starts talking big, turn your smile upside down into an un-amused look, and react to anything stupid they say with a firm 'No.', or a polite 'bugger off now.'. Don't raise your voice, and you probably shouldn't even bother to get up/turn around to face them. Just brush them off.

if they do get physical (and some quite possibly will), they won't just attack you without a reason, either you said something stupid/insulted them, or they'll do the old two handed shove into a wall. If you insulted them, it's your own fault and you can just figure your own way out of it, if they push you into a wall or something, they're probably wanting you to shove them back so they have an excuse to take a swing, so instead, just stand up to full height (I pray to god you're tall) and stare them down, possibly with a calm, composed 'fuck off'. (the idea is to convince them that if they do it again, you will instantly escalate the violence to punching them in the throat. You probably won't, but if you can convince them you will, they most likely will leave you alone)

even that could also fail, so if they push you again, you might wanna have one foot behind the other so you don't just fall over backwards and look like a complete tool.

Make some friends early. I didn't, and I barely survived.

I was a nobody in 9th grade. Then in 10th grade I changed my image, had a bunch of parties, and I owned the place overnight. I was in with the juniors and seniors too. I hung out with people from every group, so that helped. However, the Abercrombie crowd was a very small minority at my school, only popular with themselves and the Student Council, and I never really bothered with them.

I went to three different high schools. The above part was at the first one. At the second school, I just hung out with a few people from a few different groups. I hit it off really well with the senior class president, was friends with a druggie guy, a black dude, an Indian girl, a dorky white guy, and a few gothy types. I just branched out from there.

The third school was online so that doesn't really matter.

In most schools the posh morons are the minority, so just get in with everybody else and people will take notice that you're being recognized by all these very different people and they'll think you're popular. I mean, I'd be walking to class with my "black friend" and the senior president would stop and say hi, or I'd be with the gothy people and the German exchange student would stop and say something to me in German. And people noticed these little things.

I was a bit drunk the first day, but not drunk-drunk, I was social-drunk.

So I talked to some guy who seemed reasonable, but he was shy as fuck and impossible to talk to so fuck him.
Then I started talking to two guys who knew eachother from before, and we hit it off pretty well.
And it turns out they know a shitload of people from their old school, so just like that Ive been introduced to 10 new people.

However, Im starting to think they're abit boring.
I usually hang out with the crowd that laughs at really dumb things.

Whatever, Im pretty sure Im gonna survive High School.

Well, dont forget to not miss any parties for atleast the next month. I started HS last year, first day we had a good drink near the school soccer field, the next few days were spent drinking at various bars, which helped a fuckton to atleast meet a few people. Even though I was and probably still am shy as fuck.
And like most people said, try to have friends from many other cliques (sp?), it helps alot, shows youre a guy good for everything. Just watch not to get caught between two enemy groups, like Im now, if you dont choose, youll get fucked by both of them, and sometimes its a hard choice to make.

Ah, first day of school is Sept' 3 if Im correct, and we have like three new students coming to our class. Including one prepy bitch from the US.

Yeah, highschool for me isn't like in those movies, mostly in that the assholes can be very easily avoided because they don't start shit in the halls because of all the teachers, and they are never in Honors classes, so just take those instead of regular ones.

But PE fucking sucked my freshman year. Everyone had to take PE1, even the football players and shit, so they were generally pricks. Thankfully, I got out of PE2 with an athletic waiver.

I was ugly, fat, unpopular, awfull and hated in school. There were few similar people but we never became friends.
There was this one kid, he was awfull. He was loud obnoxious and just.. irritating. And hated more than me.

But, he thought that as I was hated, if he picked on me then he'd become popular.
So he started harassing me, till one day I kicked him. He ran off squeeling and I chased him. The pussy ran into the boys toilets to try and hide from me, but I went in. I bounced his head off the tile wall and kicked him in the balls.


Course, he told the teachers. I played the sob story about how my parents were breaking up and they'd both start arguing about me, so my punishment was to sit in the library and read all lunch time. Gosh, what a punishment.



Sometimes I feel bad about that. Really fucking bad. It was horribly aggressive and very unpleasant thing for me to do.
But then I figure if I hadnt had retaliated he'd have just done similar to me.


So no, if you're bullied dont try to bully the other bullied. It wont work, it wont boost your popularity or credibity. It will just give you something to feel bad about for a long time.

It seems that except for majority of Midwest Schools; most other schools get out in late May/Early June and begin in middkle August
