ok so my boyfriend's been going on about later us living together in a house at uni and the like; thinking about waaaay in the future and saying things like "i know this is going to last a long time :)" etc.

Then about a month and a half ago, me and my boyfriend had sex for the first time. We'd been talking about it for ages but we'd never had the chance (parents, etc.) but i finally thought i could trust him but yeah, deed done.

everything seemed 10 times better (i stayed at his house that night) and we seemed closer than ever. then i go on camp for a week with no contact with anyone. First thing he does when I get back is says he wants a 'break' because he doesnt want to hurt me ... i didn't understand it, 2 days later he tells me he's 'happiest' with me and we get back together.

for the next month or so i tone it down, nothing more than making out (nothing below the belt) so he wouldnt freak out again but then he says that yesterday he had a 'breakdown' and said he had to sort out things in his life and he didn't see 'us' in that new life.:(

Would he just be being a dickhead again and come back to me (in which case should i really take him back?)

Or has anyone had any experience in things like this? he said he still wants to be 'friends' , what should i do?

That said, the best thing you can do is talk it out. The fact that you two had sex and now you're coming here for advice on it instead of trying to work it out with him just says you two weren't ready. Are you even sure it was because you fucked? To me it sounds like "Hey, I cheated on you while you were gone... I care so much about you that I don't want to hurt you if it happens again...etc."

Seriously, try to talk to him about it, it seems like you're not really making a large effort to solve this problem... Is the relationship worth it to you?

In terms of real advice, though, I would say that you need to get out. NOW. This does not sound like a healthy relationship at all. If your partner cannot think realistically (maybe you will break up eventually, etc.), and that scares you, than you have no business staying in a relationship with him.
