That Girl
My more sober post, with more of a background.
When I was 11 I used to go to this Youth Group at my church, not my choice. It was alright, but I met her through the group. We used to sneak off in to the woods, or by the lake to talk, and just hang out. This continued til I was 14 or 15. Eventually I stopped going, and we talked online. I visited about twice a month.
When I was about 17 and I moved out of my mothers house, for a few different reasons, we kinda lost touch and only saw each other occasionally. It was weird being really close, and then kinda not seeing each other.
I eventually moved to Chicago, and Pittsburgh. We would talk online, make plans, and break them. We always loved each other I guess. We get along really well, and it was, and never was awkward. I guess our relationship has always been very suggestive in nature. And the last time I saw her we slept together, Nothing happened, we just slept together and watched movies.
So, for the last 6 months, I have been training in the army. And I called home, and my mother told me that she saw her in the store, and wanted me to call her. I called her, and we are talking.
so, she lost like 35 pounds, and is fucking hot, not that she wasn't before, but now she is something like 105. I went to visit her at work today, and we continued on like no time had passed, our conversation was very suggestive, I was very surprised, and she wants to hang out later.
I just got off the phone with her, and or conversation went something like this.
me: hey, it was good to see you. You look georgous.
Her: You look great too.
me:well, ive been busy.
her: I started running a lot too, once you left.
me: we should run together while im home.
her: yea, that would be fun.
me: so, you said you wanted to go to lunch, or just hang out at your apartment?
her: yea, I was thinking we could catch up, you know?
me: yea, that would be great.
her: so you really think I look good?
me: oh my god, yes. But I've always thought you were gorgeous.
her: yea, I know. so, are we hanging out tommorow? I work at 1:30
me: yeah, call me when you wake up.
her: alright, but I have to go to the doctor for my back.
me: okay, just call me when you get done, You know I really missed your stupid ass.
Her: I know, You too.
Me:alright, goodnight.
Her: see you tommorow.
The prior, is a condensed convosation/ series of text messages.
So, yea. Im so fucking happy.

Re: That Girl
So, she has a boyfriend. but she has made it clear that it doesn't matter. And she was creating excuses why he isn't good for her once again. She has done it before the first time they broke up, before I left.
I just got done with lunch with her, and it was great, we talked and caught up. I guess she got kicked out of school, because she let shit get in the way of her work, but she is starting again. we have plans to hang out tomorrow, she is going to Smoke, and since I get piss tested i'm going to drink.
Wish me luck. :D

Re: That Girl
So, she has a boyfriend.
I was a rootin' for yer up to that point.
Oh and your conversation was rather quaint. It does amuse me when two people who desperately want to fuck each others brains out can't bring themselves to say it.

Re: That Girl
I agree Jack. It's even better when you can see the expressions on their faces and the body language though! Sweaty faces and shit loads of hesitation! A laugh a minute.
Dude...If she's got a fella, I'd say no. But if you love her then...Fuck it...All's fair in love and war. Besides you loved her first! :p
All the best to you buddy!

Re: That Girl
Well, I was going to tell her that when we were little I figured out how I was going to propose, and That I had shit planned out. We talked a lot about how when we were little we were such good friends.
She also wasn't opposed to the idea of moving to new york with me. I kinda brought up the fact that I was leaving the 17th, and the fact that all she has here is a shit job and a shittier boyfriend.
I guess even after all these years she is one of the few things that still can make me happy, its weird, you know? It's like we've always been together, even when we are miles apart.
GOD! As much as I know it would work out, I don't even fucking know. I guess when we do fuck, I'll talk to her about it, and just fucking tell her I don't want to lose her again, and ask if there was anything I could do to prevent that.
Were also going to the zoo.
Any real advice is greatly appreciated.
Oh, and Jack there isn't much to talk about really, I mean we've known eachother since we were in 6th grade.

Re: That Girl

To be honest I don't think you need advice, you're just looking for reassurance. You know what you have to do, and trust yourself that it is the right thing. You obviously aren't a loser who sucks with chicks, so just do what you think is right. And it'll all work out.
Good luck buddy.

Re: That Girl
It sounds like you two are meant to be, from the way you describe it.
It would be interesting to hear her perspective.
I wish you all the best.

Re: That Girl
I hate to rain on this parade but it sounds all too familiar to me. Granted this girl has shown her unwaivering love for you, but lets think on the shitty side of things for a minute, its where my mind tends to linger.
Now this girl who has a boyfriend who treats her like shit, as you say, seems willing to break it off/cheat with you. Is this something you could handle over seas in your mind? I have lots of friends who were in similar situations and came back home to find either their girlfriend is engaged to someone else, or seeing someone else and just couldn't find the right words to say in a letter that Steve down the road was "there for her."
I would being willing to bet the best thing you could say to her before you ship off is that her happiness is all that matters to you and you want to be that happiness. However, you don't know what is going to happen, but you will use that thought of making her happy and making up for every lost moment you were apart to just see her smile when you get back.
Granted this is a bit of a guilt trip, but you are leaving her to her own thoughts, instead of, "When I get back baby were going to get married and fuck like rabbits."
Big plans made in advance that won't come to be in the next 6 months or so put strain on people and they start to question what they are doing with their' life.
It sucks but leave it semi-vaque (vague?). When you're over there, write her whenever you get a chance and tell her how much you think of her, but don't make it a giant love letter. Be sure to leave some mystery in what you're talking about, like, "Oh, today I saw this beautiful sunset/I saw the most amazing mosque... I'll tell you in more detail next time we talk."
This is my advice, take it or leave it.
