Mods of HB
Just letting you know that I had someone tell me that HB was being spammed. I checked and found that indeed two members, AverageBT and Moss-something, had made almost 2 pages of spam.
So I gave them profile infractions to keep them from making anymore spam threads.
I had originally gave them each 2 spam infractions [again, via their profile], which would have banned them for 6 months. But I decided it wasn't my place to really do that - that I should only do what was needed to stop the spam and so I reversed one in each.
It was not my intention to step on anyone's toes here, but I thought that something should have been done to stop the spam. Nor am I complaining that nobody was there to do it. I'm just posting this so nobody thinks I'm over stepping my boundaries or something such.

I really dont mean this in a bitchy way, Euda, if it sounds like it I appologise.
But, if these posters start to take their spamming into other forums, or into forums that I moderate, would it be okay for me to infract them or should I leave it for you to do?

Meta sorta did...Unless you were implying something with that. Why bother having a toothless tiger in "spam isn't tolerated anywhere on totse" ??

Just try to have a proper reason for it.

Thanks. I think I'd go for a 'spam' infraction. it's low point.
It's weird they did that, Moss can be a good poster.
Edit: I doubt they'll do it in other forums though.

People do that all the time...
They usually go to the other pages in a couple hours.

Huh? Spam is a 10 pointer [unless it was changed again and I didn't notice].

There's been a few differences of opinion as to how these apply, particularly the SPAM rule. SPAM is an advertisement for services, generally unrelated to the forum it's posted in.
The 10 points are for advertising, not for a flood of threads. What you're thinking about is more along the lines of defacement.
Don't worry about HB, there are enough moderators. A handful of threads isn't an awful thing. They learn and give up when people don't make an issue of it.

Pretty much.
But you complain no matter what happens Sambob.
If there were no mods you'd bitch about 'idiots' being given freedom.

well, HB might be kinda rule-less, but SG isn't. And I didn't really apreciate Euda's thread insiuating that SG isn't "free" anymore and also kinda giving the regulars a bad example and kinda telling them that it's ok to make moronic threads in SG.
SG never was free, now the rules are just written down and easier to uphold with the new software.
Euda said that in the old days users were able to make braindead threads in SG and they'd just be left open, well that might of happend once or twice and it probably still does, but the truth is, that's what HB is for. To make Half Baked threads that don't make any sense and don't have a point what so ever.
thread in question: http://www.totse.com/community/showthread.php?t=2037345
just wanted to get that off my chest.

And you complain about ME no matter what I say. I don't know why you're so obsessed with me, but its pretty damn stupid.
What makes you think I was complaining about anything? I just made an observation. There is precedent for not having mods in certain forums. B&M has off and on not had any moderators. So what is this "You complain not matter what happens sambob" shit? Grow the fuck up and don't ever thin to presume you would know what I might say about something, you don't have any business guessing about me as you've made it abundantly clear through repeatedly giving try to give me shit on this forum for no reason that I can tell (other than you just seem to dislike me for some reason), that you don't really know me at all.
Whatever it is stuck up your ass, maybe you should consider taking it out. Plenty of people are talking in this thread and you decide to complain about me 'complaining, when I'm not even doing so. So just take it out, because its making you act like a real bitch.

I don't get that thread at all. Sure arx and valmont were TERRIBLE moderators and had no business being there (I would seriously beat the shit out of valmont if I ever ran into him, and really hope that one day I do run into him), but I don't think the forum has really declined in any real way. How can it decline if it was always shitty? I don't remember there EVER really being any 'good posters' in SG. And even if there were, there were always hundreds of idiots to cancel them out.
Hell the people in that thread are SO CLUELESS. Talkinga bout the 'golden days' when SG wasn't moderated. WHAT THE HELL? There were no 'good old days' in SG. People have been posting threads that go "Man SG used to be good what happened?" in SG for YEARS. Since as LONG AS I'VE BEEN A MEMBER. So maybe SG was good in 1998-1999 or something like that, but I sure as hell never saw it.
And SG has always had rules. In fact I see FEWER closed threads now than I saw back when say, Snoopy/Xenobite was moderating it.
SG posters will always be complaining about SG, while t the same time theyre making it such a shitty forum themselves.

It's too bad that you don't comprehend what that thread is about. However, I didn't expect comprehension and it isn't particularly needed; a handful of posters understood what I was talking about, and that's always enough.

Re: Mods of HB
Telling how long you've been on totse is often relevent to conversation, especially in M&A. Especially with so many new moderators. I know you don't like me after me deciding to take the position of not putting up with your spamming, shitty moderating, trolling, etc etc., but trying to start shit with me every single time you reply to a thread I've posted in is pathetic.

You've never witnessed a wide variety of conversation sparking threads?
You've never witnessed posters that put a real effort into posting within Spurious?
You've never seen threads of content and substance in SG?
The simple point that I have with that thread is that Spurious had a more solid poster-base, or simply that there there were posters with solid posting habits, when there was less moderation than the forum currently enjoys.

anyway, if you are saying that, arn't you saying that SG is going downhill because there are too much idiotic posts, because it is not moderated enough, Cause threads with the points that you just named don't get closed, they stay open.

Dude, its no secret that Sambob isn't on my Xmas card list at the moment. But whatever else he is (and I'm thinking of words not found in Scripture) he is so not a moron or a fucking idiot. He IS a superb moderator.
It does seem that almost every thread here is you and him going at each other.

Might possibly be the case but even if that is the case he isn't demonstrating it.

Yes, the solution to over-moderation and non-conversationalist threads is more moderation.
