Default Do guys like surprises?

So most of you probably know by now my boyfriends coming home tomorrow and the whole situation. I got an idea that I thought was awesome at the spur of the moment, but after it was all ready, I am kind of second guessing myself. My plan was to write him a note telling him how I felt, put it in an easter egg (like "cracking my shell," because I'm really shy and I don't talk about feelings much) and hiding it in his yard somewhere. But, now I'm wondering if he would find that kind of desperate or obsessive because it's the first day he came back? Do guys like surprises like that?

And where do I hide it? I was thinking by the mailbox, so it's somewhere obvious but not so deep in that I might trigger the motion detecter lights. But then, what if someone walks their dog and it pees all over it... I don't know.

Rykoshet, you are welcome to give me your opinion :)

That plan sounds it might go wrong. Either by being over looked, not found, or vanadlised. Allthough I do think a note and some chocolate might be cute.

And, what's so special about Rykoshet? You've got my nosey radar spinning now!

Rykoshet is special because his alcoholism is overtaking his good sense at the moment. :p

It's a nice idea. Why not put it inside the mailbox?

Why not sit on his doorstep waiting for him to get home, with the chocolate in hand and the note in your heart?

..or would that be too creepy? How close are you to this guy?

It's a nice idea but a lot of guys would overlook it. Don't be hurt if he does. I rekon you'd be better off cooking something for him then doing something together followed by you giving him a bloody good seeing to.

Or something like that.

wtf kind of idea is that? "Here, I hid an easter egg in your yard, find it and see how much I love snooping around your property, Oh by the way I love what your parents did with the window treatments."

I remember coming back from a trip once and my girlfriend got me alone and was like I've been missing sucking your cock. And then she sucked my cock.

And all I could think was... I wish she'd written me a note and hid it in an easter egg.

:( so guys would rather me not do anything for them then do something that shows that I care? I am not giving him head.... There's nothing in that that says I care.

And Rykoshet is special because he always gives the opposite opinion then practically everyone else in my threads. And the fact that he said that he was sorry for being an asshole gives him a plus. Most people don't do that.

And, yoyobek, are you allowed to put things in peoples mailboxes? I thought that was illegal.... And I would send him a text to come and get it first off so it's not like someone would find it before he would... I think....

I think this really depends on the guy. Personally, I would probably like it, if it all went according to plan.
Some people don't like that kind of stuff though. You are probably the best judge for whether he will like it or not, I think.

Waste of time.

Get beer, sit and watch TV and let him know how you feel.

It's a matter of respect...When I was a teenager, chicks would do little notes and shit for me but they never, NEVER, hit home like a girl saying "Pete...I really like you...I wanna be with you!"

The girls who actually just came out and told me how they felt got my respect for just being open and honest...Too many frills made it worthless and as though they were going for wowing me instead of trusting themselves.

It works the same way for a lot of the guys I know.

But I'm afraid that it won't come out right if I say it face to face, or I will forget thigns that I wanted to say. I don't know, I have never done good with talking one on one. I have an easier time writing my feelings down. And he's written me notes before... I just thought it was something that he would like.

If "chocolate" is code for sex, then this is an awesome plan. Minus the note. And minus the clothes.

First of all your name is sirlicksalot.

Secondly, nothing says I love you more than getting down on your knees sucking his dick and making him have an orgasm.
The only way you're going to do something nice with an easter egg is if you shove it up your pussy and give him a remote control that makes it vibrate.

My advice is compromise, write him a sweet note, cook hima nice dinner, and suck his dick while he reads the note and eats dinner.

I think it's a stupid idea. Surprises are nice, but the subtle metaphor of you being shy being conveyed by breaking an egg-shell, likely to pass over the heads of most men, even if they've been at Governor School. Why not just cook him a nice meal and welcome him to take a shower with you? That's a surprise all men welcome.

And (I'm looking at you Euda) my alcohol and drug problem is taken care of. I've decided to get back into boxing, which means strict training schedules, a diet of food that tastes like shit (except meat, which is awesome), and absolutely no alcohol, cigarettes, or other drugs.

It's all right though, hopefully this will pay off, and then my drug problem will be nonexistent.

EDIT: Your problem of facing him and telling him your feelings isn't going to go away, especially since you think this will be a lasting relationship. If you can't communicate with him and need to resort to writing little notes, the relationship is over. I'm not being a dick, I'm being serious. Communication is one of the biggest strengths in a relationship.

EDIT2: About the blowjob thing. Why can't you end a night with it? Play it off as if he's not getting any that night, and then when he says good night, just pull off his pants, and bam, surprise blowjob. You'll have waited long enough that he won't think you're a whore, but not too long that he'll think you're frigid. Good compromise I say.

Yeah no shit, PLUS MUTHA FUCKIN ONE!1+

Now with the obscure reference of eggshell/shy out of the way, I just gotta ask......an Easter Egg in July???? WTF? My only wish at this point is we were in November and you were plotting to take some July 4th bottle rockets and shove them up a turkey's ass before letting them rip. Imagine THAT homecoming show as he's strolling his way up the walk!

Seriously, heed the words of all the guys on this thread. If your man was gone for any length of time (couple weeks or more) and has ANY interest in you in the least.....then that first night home BETTER end with something raunchy, naughty and sexual. If not then you profoundly phail, and you should just pack it up with this one.....because you'll be sending a CLEAR message of your intents/desires/insequirities towards him, and he'll realize its either too much work or just chalk it up to you not liking him.

Blow jobs > easter eggs, or anything of the sort.

Then that's the way to go. But the whole easter egg thing...Hmmmm...I'm just not seeing the fun there. Sorry!

If the written word is your best way of explaining then no problem...It works well at times.
But from my stand point, notes have a habit of either going on mystical journeys to people it wasn't intended to be read by when the shit his the fan or just don't mean as much as "I like you a lot...I want to get freak-KAY with ya baby!"

Or something along that line.

Cute I-like-you notes are so elementary school. You might as well buy him a teddy bear holding a big heart.
Just cook him some food you know he likes or get some of his favorite booze, in my experience guys appreciate that a lot more than the lovey-dovey shit. If you really want to tell him how you feel, just tell him you suck at showing your feelings face to face and give him the note in an envelope.
And yes, easter eggs in july make no sense at all.

Seriously funny shit, I tip my hat to you sir.

But yeah, a guy would appreciate some good sex a hell of a lot more. I was thinking, if you're going to be alone with him, wear something special. Corset, maid's outfit, etc. If there's going to be too many people around, wear a skirt, catch him alone, and let him rape you against a wall.

No, but it's illegal to open their mail. You can open their mailbox, put stuff in, but I'm sure you aren't legally allowed to either take stuff out and open it.

As for putting stuff in mailboxes, I always take the wrong mail and distribute it around my neighbourhood, but then again, I'm Canajan.
