You might be on to something. Perhaps, that's why communism falls apart. If everyone got, say, a government financed BJ for a hard day's work people might be a bit more inclined to work. Of course, I suppose that would still be a bastardized form of Capitalism.

Re: Sex=better society?
so i found myself watching ophra today and they said sex keeps you in shape only burns like 25 calories but it has something to do with horomones in your brain that make you want to eat less or something so more sex = less obese people = healthier society? i don't know about that though i'm usually hungry after gettin a little... maybe only applys to woman.

Re: Sex=better society?
I'm just pulling statistics out of my ass here, but it seems that here in America we are still in the Puritan ages when it comes to the subject of sex; most of Europe on the other hand is must more liberal-minded on the subject and more open to it.
More Americans suffer from depression and anxiety related issues.
I'm kind of high right now I think this could possibly be a plausible correlation.
...the only flaw in this way of thinking is those whose sexual desires consist of torture and rape...this might possibly be detrimental to society..

Re: Sex=better society?
if you take sexual gratification as a part of a larger gratification of erotic energy, then society could very well benefit from an emphasis on this gratification. its kind of tied into marx's notion of alienated labor. if people derive pleasure from their work or are allowed the freedom to pursue projects that bring them pleasure, then they will be living a better life. its also tied to nietzsche's call to live a more embodied and fulfilling life.

Re: Sex=better society?
We all need to get fucked out of our minds every once in a while.....helps us unwind from all the tensions in our life.......I can almost imagine a Utopian society being formed on the basis of daily sex....that'd be badass!:D
It'll be the one best way to have a well organized and peaceful society..... :p ....similar to that of dolphins (which have similar sexual practices):D

Re: Sex=better society?
Actually, that's one of the theories behind why more Islamics are terrorists than any other religious/political faction. They're polygamous, and that leads to there being not nearly enough women for each male, alongside marriage being extremely expensive. So, they blow themselves up for 42 virgins.
So, I'd say yes, very much so. :P

They got that soooo fuckin backwards.....first off, the literal translation of that is 42 "pure beings", in reference to angels, NOT virgin women for sex and what not. the arabic to english translation just becomes "virgins". secondly, they dont promise anything but hell for murder....and that's what this is really...murder, since they only kill others for their own benefit. and third, this whole suicide attack thing is just another business, and the only way for the terrorists to get "employees" is to offer them this falsified incentive that they would get "virgins" in the sexual meaning if they blow themselves up.............all in all I say it's just fuckin wrong! so there...hope that clears up the bullshit they're trying to spread......

Re: Sex=better society?
so i found myself watching ophra today .
That is your first problem. Murder/suicide is your ONLY solution.
As for the sex thing, I agree with the poster that said America is more hung up on sex AND has more issues with depression.
Myself, I'm just glad I'm living in an era where running hot/cold water is the norm and most people shower with regularity...... making sex that much more desirable and tasty. Can you imagine a sexual revolution in the mid-ages, when they jumped in a lake every couple of weeks to bathe?

Re: Sex=better society?
I was thinking:
If everyone had all of their sexual desires fulfilled consistently, wouldnt society be much more productive, bountiful, and over all higher quality and happier?
No because some people's sexual desires involve hurting and abusing unwilling participants. So those people wouldn't be very happy would they?
Also..... shitloads of europeans are depressed they just don't admit it because they are proud. I don't think depression in america is anything to do with less sex, I think it's just they don't have such a problem talking about depression and that.

Re: Sex=better society?
It sounds perfect, but it's flawed.
If you had your sexual desires fulfilled constantly, people would take it for granted. You wouldn't desire amazing sex, because you always have it. People desire things because they are good. If things are always good, people will become complacent, most likely sex would become boring.
It's like... if we were demanded to love (emotionally) someone. We had to, there was no choice. Would that person feel loved? I mean... millions of people are loving him, they have no choice, but does he really feel love? I would say he would not, because part of love is that someone has chosen to love you. Love is a feeling that comes by your ability to have anyone and yet you chose them.
In the same way, if everyone had all sexual desires fulfilled, there would be nothing to seek out and desire. People would become complacent and passionless. :(

No, it would bring the value of sex down.
There has to be a tricky system on the route to sex, otherwise it would turn boring.
It's like grapes - they were once considered a delicacy.
Now you can get grapes anywhere, and though they're sweet and refreshing, they're not as valuable.
