Default there's this girl

and i like her, and i'm positive she likes me

but i have trouble talking to her when ever i see her, my mind goes blank and my voice goes mute

so i saw her at this party last night, and she was around me alot, but i still had the same old problem i always do

earlier that day i spoke to her alot, but it wasn't in person

i really have not given her any implications i like her, blatant that is

due to my own personal problems, like alot of other girls, i kind of ignored her, she didn't try to talk to me or anything, but she followed me around in a sense..

the fact that i did this, what should i do, explain my situation with my shyness to her? just leave it as is and force myself to act next time?

Obviously your main issue is confidence. I once saw a documentary on people who couldn't date because they were too shy to talk.

You should consider some conversation excercises, practice a bit and you'll get the hang of it. Try playing this with one of your friends and it'll help:

Basically, start off your first sentence with the letter A, your friend then replies with a sentence beginning with B, continue throughout the alphabet and see how you go.

It's actually quite interesting, once you're ready go talk to her and do the same thing (get her to play even ;)). If you say something that doesn't make sense, laugh it off and joke about it.

I know alot of really interesting people who go blank when meeting new people, it's just a matter of breaking the ice before you can get to any 'good' conversations.

thanks for the insight,

but when it comes to women and men, it's like comparing fire and ice relative to my communicative skills

all of my friends, who are guys, would likely tell you i am one of the most assertive people they know

then all the girls, would tell you, that i am either really shy or cold because that's how i present my shyness it seems

I know what you mean. It's the part of your personality that doesn't translate when dealing with the opposite sex.

I mean, if she already likes you, the fact that you're somewhat cold wouldn't really be a turn-off. You don't want to go way off and treat her like a friend but at the same time you want a comfortable atmosphere you have with your friends while you're around her.

Women are just like men, except they have certain ways of displaying interest. Don't be afraid to act goofey sometimes, if she likes you she'll like a guy that's comfortable around her.

Yeah thanks,

hopefully i dont give her the wrong impression, or confuse her though

i talk to her online assertively, but when i see her in person, it's just hard to talk, and i dont know why, it's one of those problems you dont understand and can't explain

In NLP if you only have one choice you're a robot (Trying to talk to her)
If you have two choices, you're in a dilema (Which just causes anxiety) Only when you have three or more choices do you have freedom.

So just think of some, e.g. Learning humour (Making her laugh is seriously over half the deal) or gaining confidence through talking to more people, realising she isn't the only girl you like. Etc, lots of choices take a load off your shoulders.

All the best,

-B.

Dude, idk how easy this will be, but you better let her know somehow that you have some sort of feeling for her otherwise you will fall into the friend trap.

The worst place to be.
