Stereotypical thread
Has anybody ever noticed that in a movie the guy can always apologize and say the right thing and the girl will go back out with him? Shit never works that way.
I know there's always one of these threads but I never read them. What do you guys do to get over a break-up? I always solved every problem with alcohol\drugs...but that just doesn't seem right. It won't work anymore. Any ideas?

Re: Stereotypical thread
It is a bit funny you mention this topic. Yesterday I saw a movie on which the main guy was dumped by his girlfriend and then she went with another asshole. He got serious mental issues after this incident. He became really obssesed with women. He sold all of his stuff (furniture, tv, computer etc) to be able to pay at least 5 whores every week. Eventually he met some nice girl who started to care about him.
The idiot told her he was addicted to pussy and that he fucked many sluts since they met each other. At the end of the movie he just said: "i'm sorry I never meant to hurt you" and that crap. Then she just forgave him and voila we have a happy, boring and unreal ending.
That sucks...

Re: Stereotypical thread
it probably hassnt worked for you because
1. there is no inspirational or moving music in the background.
2. because you are saying the wrong thing.
3. you need to do it at the right time, when she shows up to prom with another guy, when there is pouring rain, after another guy breaks her heart, etc.
4. it seems about 100x more romantic in the movies.
5. the girl needs to still have lingering feelings for you, but feels that its best to end it.
6. maybe when you said it, it did not sound genuine.
i have apologized and its worked almost every time. don't apologize when the chick obviously has no feelings for you anymore or she just moved on.

If things go to shit, dont expect a hollywood moment to make it all better.

Re: Stereotypical thread
so true, so many like to think of their lives as a story out of a movie...nothing could be further from reality!
anyways I know it sounds cliche, but the best way to get over a relationship is to start doing things that you enjoy, especially things you couldn't do while you were with your girlfriend, you know...like other females?

Hahaha, i can't believe it but i'm going to have to agree with a mod for once. I really do think that unrealistic hollywood movies like the notebook and shit like that have given young men and women the wrong impressions of real relationships and makes it alot harder for everyone, especially in situations where you're trying to apologize

Re: Stereotypical thread
I remember this one time when the old lady brought a friend into the bedroom, and then had a jealous breakdown afterwards and just about left. I talked her through it and made everything good again. The only trick is to reduce the problem and make it seem insignificant. Then just reassure her that you are committed. Really, even if you fucked up and screwed another woman, it really is going overboard to through away a meaningful relationship over it. Most blow-ups are because of unrealistic idealism, and that can be overcome through rationalizing. Some things you just have to let slide. I'm faithful to my fiance, but I do have a weekness that may one day get me into trouble, my penis. I understand she has a similar problem and I wouldn't freak out.

What the hell was she expecting when she invited another girl to have sex with her boyfriend!?
