Pesticide synth
What's a fairly easy pesticide to synth? I've not made anything in about 2 months and now theres flying ants everywhere, so it seems like a good synth to do right about now. I'm googling now, but so far to no avail.

Re: Pesticide synth
How would you react chlorine with chloroform? Chlorine water and chloroform? or gaseous chlorine shaken with chloroform?
Trying to make carbon tetrachloride.

Re: Pesticide synth
heres the thing- i wanna help you, but theres a couple of issues. the first being the fact that some of these true hardcore really smart degree holders and o.g.'s around here think that it's not possible to pull off some sort of method of obtaining some sort of substance that gets the results your looking for. i think that mainly comes from the fact that the true professionals would never lower themselves to polluting their temples with how should i say...garbage, low grade, hillbilly, backwoods, desperate measure "stuff". lets face it, your probably not going to win any blue ribbons at the speed cup international bake off with a red ortho (hint hint) recipie. and more than likely youll end up a fuckin retard with any prolonged usage of the end results. now i know im gonna get fuckin lambasted by the true scholars for saying this but....it is possible to produce what your talking about. ive done it and i got lit up off the results. we're talking about some major washing and cleaning up issues though before you should even consider entering anything like that into your body. if your unfamilar with any of those techniques abort the mission right now cuz you probably dont have braincells to spare. whatever the results, i couldnt honestly say what the substance would fall under on the periodical table of elements. sure it might get you high but what is the price you pay in the long run physically? so heres the deal- i just got back on the site today after a 13 month hiatus and im not looking to get ripped apart by the fellows i so desperately want respect from if you can dig that. so if an o.g around here replys and says it wont damage the credibility and the respectability of the sight, i will post my white trash method (and it's worthy of considering....no,really) of the bug juice synth. as an added bonus i will add my sure proof way of cleaning up the product the best it can possibly be cleaned, but if all its gonna do is piss people off and make the vets around here tear me apart...well then your on your own kid, cuz i need my ego stroked right now, not bashed into the ground. bottom line is i am well versed in the art of getting high but i dont hold any educational degrees like some of these guys. what you can get, is something that will get you high, but i honestly dont know the true properties of the end result, but i think it's safe to say its not good for you. so c'mon moderators and/or someone i know has credibility around here, should i keep my junkie ways to myself or should i throw it out there for the sake of conversation and/or shits and giggles? let us know. peace

Re: Pesticide synth
I'm not trying to make chloroform... and yes I know that carbon tetrachloride was also used as an anaesthetic, but it was also used as a pesticide. I don't plan on sniffing it or using it to get high. I have three holes in my back garden of which hundreds of ants are pouring out of. I want to do a synthesis, and what better one could there be, than making one for a specific purpose, that isn't blowing somebody up, or getting high? It's a good pesticide, and seems like it would be fairly easy to make.

Re: Pesticide synth
++ If you know how to synth a non-banned, safe(ish) pesticide then go for it, I'd rather make that if it's easy enough.
I can make chloroform myself, and have done a few times to use as a solvent in solvent welding plastic cases etc. I can also produce chlorine easily enough, and am well versed in safety procedures.

Ah, takes me back to my days of fiddling with organophosphate analogue pathways on E&W.

Re: Pesticide synth
i been away for a while so maybe im not catching your drift, or im that much out of touch with things? am i understanding you right? are you seriously asking on how to concuct some shit to kills bugs? cuz either im fuckin lost in outer space (it wouldnt be the first or last time) or you and i are talking about topics on the opposite ends of the earth. what im talking about is getting loopy. maybe i scared you with my too open aproach or something, was that it. I see alot of posts about people asking what i though you were getting at. i need to brush up on my proper lingo around here, like using the swihugh thing and shit like that. if that was the case...my bad. but the more i think about it, theres no way your looking to make home made bug spray or some shit like that, so im not catching what you were asking for i guess. anyways i think it's pretty clear what my intentions were and what i was willing to throw out there. i hate to admit it but im kinda confused on who took the wrong turn. enlighten me someone.

Eh? What kind of saftey procedures do you intend to use... ?
...anyways, skipping over the "proscribed chemical weapons" for a sec, menthol is actually neurotoxic to most insects. Extract, distill, recrystallize, redissolve, 'n hose the fuckers down!

Re: Pesticide synth
Well usually when I'm using chloroform I wear a respiratory mask and gloves, and don't let it come into contact with metal, or bright sunlight. I know it's not all entirely necessary, but it's good practice.
Yes, I want to make an insecticide. To kill insects. Strange that.
Menthol is toxic to insects? Didn't know that. Thankyou. How toxic is it exactly? I've got some menthol crystals somewhere, about 20g worth. Is it the gas that's toxic to insects, or the solution?
Thanks for the help.
