uneven arms
I am an athlete. I have two very uneven arms. When I flex my biceps my right one is much larger than my left, it is more defined and much harder. Why is this and is it bad that i have a 15 1/2" left arm and a 17" right arm.

Re: uneven arms
I've sat here for hours and can only think that jerking off has caused this.
You should try jerking it left handed continental style for some serious tricep development.

Re: uneven arms
Most people are uneven, but that's quite an asymmetry. If you do a lot of pushups to build your biceps, it's likely that you're favouring your right arm massively, even if you don't notice. Using an exercise ball is supposed to counteract this (I think you put your feet on it, and do pushups, and when you favour one arm you tend to roll over to the side, so it forces you to use your arms equally). Or you could just do lots of one-armed pushups. If you go and see a physiotherapist they'll design a proper set of exercises for you to follow to even you up.
If you care?

Re: uneven arms
My arms are uneven as well. I'm working on it. When I do pullups I try to force my left arm to do more work. Also, use dumbbells if you can. Work your smaller arm more. I'd try and get it to when your smaller arm can do just as much work, that's what I'm working for. After that symmetry wouldn't matter or it would be fixed.

Re: uneven arms
Gov. Arnold had this problem back in his early BB'ing days. He said that he never flexed his large arm and flexed his small arm as much as possible and it evened him out.

Re: uneven arms
this is what i'm currently doing,
and it seems to be working
ive only done it a couple times, but i can already see my left arm getting bigger.
just use a normal barbell, do curls, etc.
and then when you've done it to failure,
wait for 10 minutes.
and then use a dumbell or one barbell
and curl with your less dominate untill failure.

Re: uneven arms
I once had uneven arms too. My left one was much bigger than my right, and I was tired of that. It annoyed me so much. So what I did was take some good ol' 10 and 25 pound dumbells, and started to work out my arms. I worked each one out one at a time, doing a set with my left arm, then doing twice as much with my right. It was a killer for my right arm, though it really brought the bicep quite close to my left. No matter what, my left will be a bit bigger than my right (since its my dominant hand), though it will only be by so little you can hardly notice it. Good luck!
Oh and with the two dumbells: I worked out with 25 (doing the routine), then once I couldn't lift the 25's anymore, I moved to 10 until I couldnt lift them up anymore for the night. I also had light 5 pounders laying around, so I got those and used those till I couldn't. It was a killer, though it was totally worth it.
Hope this helped,
A.E.

That's what my brother does for his chest. The right side of his chest is bigger for some reason, so in addition to his regular bench, he's been doing a one handed dumbell bench with his less dominant side.
It's been working so far.

What exercises did you do. Bench press and bicep curl? Anything else?
