I like this girl, but...
Long Version:
So, I spent the night with these three girls the other night, purely as friends.
Anyway, there was this girl there that I have liked for a while, but she has a boyfriend.
I left early that night and afterwards she texted me and said, "Maybe it's good that you left. I think something was going to happen."
I replied, "What do you mean? Like between us?"
And she says, "Yeah. If it isn't obvious, I have feelings for you. And it's weird. It's hard having these feelings for anyone but Jared (her boyfriend) and it scares me."
I really really like her, but I'm a gentleman and I am not going to steal her from her boyfriend, plus her boyfriend is a good friend of mine and an awesome guy. Their relationship is a bit unhealthy right now because neither of them trust each other.
Everyone thinks that I would be a better man for her, but she is in a pretty serious relationship. She said she needs to think things over.
What the hell should I do?
I don't want to get in the middle of their relationship for fear of ruining it, but that's what I want.
I just couldn't stand the guilt of thinking I broke them up.
Fuck, this sucks man.
Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.
Short version: I like a girl, she likes me. She has a boyfriend. What the fuck do I do? Advice?

Re: I like this girl, but...
If a girl has a boyfriend, and she's coming onto you, I wouldn't care a whole lot about their relationship. Obviously, it's not strong enough to mean anything. And people like to date just so they can say they're boyfriend/girlfriend. If it was remotely serious, she wouldn't be coming on to you at all.
But in the case, him being one of your friends is enough to establish a fairly reasonable no-fly zone.

Re: I like this girl, but...
Yeah, but that's the thing.
I would never date someone who would cheat with me, for fear that they might cheat on me later down the road.
But this girl is different.
She didn't cheat, and she probably won't.
She just has feelings for me.
And she says it's not just a recent thing.
I thought it may just be because her and Jared are having a hard time, but she said she has had these feelings all year.
I guess I just don't know what to do.
I mean, should I wait?
If I do and they don't break up, it will have been a waste of time, and I would just get hurt.
Fuck man, I just don't know.

Re: I like this girl, but...
If you dont mind losing Jared as a friend then go for it. But hey, theres still a small chance you and him can stay friends even if you take his girl. It happened with two of my friends a few years ago and they're still friends today. If you do actually do it, just dont rub it in his face and dont make a big deal of it.

Oh another thing about their relationship: they are so jealous/protective.
He found out that I spent the night, and the got into a huge argument.
Like our friendship is pretty much a secret.
Also, I would hate to lose Jared as a friend.
I mean, I play baseball with him, and it just would be really awkward and weird all the time. Plus, he would probably kick my ass; there's not much a chance we would remain friends.

If he kicked your ass and you put up a fight instead of letting him do it, he'll probably stay your friend.

Re: I like this girl, but...
Just back off. If she wants to come to you, she will. Don't go messing things up, you could end up with both of them hating you. Just let things go, from the sound of it, chances are they will break up on their own soon enough.

That's what I'm hoping.
Should I completely not talk to her though?
I really really don't want to do that, but I guess if that would be best, then maybe I should?

Well, that's what's weird.
They're like in love with each other.
That's why she is so freaked out about these feelings.
Also, they have threatened to break up several times, but each time, they get back together.
I don't know the chances of them getting back together.

Well thanks to everyone who helped.
I guess I'll just sort of wait it out and try not to talk to her too much.

You shouldn't feel that you can't talk to her, just be a good friend to both her and Jared.
If he gets mad that you guys talk, and I mean JUST talk, then he is a protective asshole and shouldn't be with her, but don't do anything about it, let her make her own decision, because whatever you say to her will be very bias.
Just be a good person, and if they break up, and she comes to you, it's fair game. :D

I would stay as afar away from her as possible. You guys could work out, and if you really like her then go for her, but theres a good good good chance that she will go right back to her boyfriend now.

This is pretty much what I am thinking would be the best decision.
Thanks man.

I'm not the type of guy to step on another guy's feet to get his girl.
I am a gentleman.

Re: I like this girl, but...
Personally I don't think having a relationship with this girl is worth ruining your existing friendship over. If I were you I would leave it and if they break up, they break up.

Re: I like this girl, but...
girls come and go, wait out the situation and just have fun in the mean time. there will be plenty of girls you care a lot about. relationships are ALMOST ALWAYS short term, friends last forever. dont fuck that up

That's the end of the story, really.
Untill she dumps him of her own free will, there's nothing you can, or should do.
