Countering the regime
If you've seen what I've seen, and you're insane enough to believe it all..
I see that the government is taking control. Societies are being dumbened with media distractions. Propaganda is rampant on the television. Internet is on the edge of stopping its existence and turning into a market place. Government branches, congressmen, president, are controlled by big money investors. In some states, the BMV are privatized.
What we can do, is create something like the internet.. an alternative internet, where nothing is suppressed... Share the information, go out and throw out pamphlets.. something.
I feel so hopeless.

Re: Countering the regime
It all depends so much dude, you saw the topic in IFIOTW about the UK droping important people from their history lessons and providing the population with 'more needed' education about debt managment, environment care or eating healthy.

If stuff goes along these lines longer, harder times will come than we've got now.

Yeah, shameless slef-quote.
But remember, as long as you live, and some people like you (in this case also people like me), there will exist this factor of those that will fight, sooner or later, with the oppression they deem 'too oppressive'.

I know the feeling. I remember back in the day where you were "weird" if you were into the internet. Now every dumb slut and jock in the highschool at LEAST has a MySpace, and half of all online conversations go something like this:
"hi."
"wutz up?"
"nm u?"
"nm, lol"
Remember back when you could go into a chatroom for random depraved cybersex? Gone are those days: Now it's full of camwhores - chicks who you PAY to watch on webcam. Oh, and most of them have a MySpace.
Remember back in the day where raunch was something dirty and fun, not something you saw everyday everywhere?
My friend's, take the Totse FAQ as a call to arms.
" This web site is about INFORMATION. All sorts and all viewpoints. Some of the information you will agree with, some you will find shocking, and some you will probably disagree with violently. That is the whole point. In this society we go to schools where there is one right answer: The Teacher's. There is one acceptable version of events: The Television's. There is only one acceptable occupation: The pursuit of money. There is only one political choice to make: The Status Quo.
On this web site you are expected to make decisions all by yourself. You get to decide who and what to agree with, and why. You get to hear new viewpoints that you may have never heard before. On this web site people exist without age, without skin color, without gender, without clothes, without nationality, without any of the visual cues we usually use to discredit or ignore people who are unlike ourselves. All of these things are stripped away and the ideas themselves are laid bare.
You will change. You will transform. You will learn. You will disagree.
You will enjoy it."
