I'm 17- recently both my parents past away leaving me to live "on my own". After going through the courts- I was put on an Independent Living Contract, allowing me to live by myself with an (any) adult in the house. The "Adult" that lives with me is my uncle. He is in no way my legal gardian, by law- his role is pretty much a roomate of mine. On my contract he is called my "Mentor"

Now to the delima....

After he moved in, we had a problem: Girlfriends. He is very Christian, and does not believe in pre-marital sex. After coming home a few times and seeing my girlfriend in the house with me (watching a movie, playing a game, whatever) he flipps out because we are in the house together "un-supervised".
Him Christian, me Atheist
By his Christian values, he can't stand for me and by girlfriend being in the house together alone- or doing anything sexual. And if it continues- he'll have to move.
By me, I would never impose my beliefs on anyone- and I expect others not to impose them on me.

The question: Do I stop everything (sexual at my house) with my long-term girlfriend, to support his "Christian values", and stay living with my uncle. Mind you he moved from another state to come live with me, while changing Jobs.

Whats not alowed:
Him knowing that I'm sleeping with my girlfriend
Being un-supervised in a house with any females.
"Frat house stuff"

Uhh...yeah, I'd probably move out if I were you. Thats rough that you have to have an adult living with you at all times though. How old does the adult have to be? 18+ or 21+? Also, what happens if you move into an apartment that doesnt have an adult present, what will the courts do?

That sucks about your parents too...did they both pass away together?

EDIT: Also, how much are you paying compared to what he's paying? If he's supporting you financially, then its a slightly different story.

With moving into an appartment- I'm only 17- I can't sign any contracts, put any bills in my name or get a decent job really. I have about 1200 a month to live on (Social security) + money if I get a job + rent from my "Roomate".
The house I'm currently in was my mothers, she had the rent paid for 6months at a time. So i'm good till the lease is up (15 days)

How much was the rent on the house? You -might- be able to go to the landlord and explain your situation, and ask if you can still remain as a tenant if you pay in advance. It's a longshot, but a lot of people would be sympathetic to your situation.

But if you're only 17, you might be better off just sucking it up and staying with your uncle until you graduate high school and then you can go off to college and stay there. Or at least until you turn 18.

Not that you could easily find another "adult" but the way I see it is, 1)it's your house 2)he moved in with you you didnt move in with him 3)if he doesn't like it he should either get over it or get out.
