if i had a girlfriend im the type of guy whod be whipped
i always find myself doing favors for ppl even though i often get nothing in return. ie giving ppl rides

I know that i need to start telling ppl to fuck off more often which I am working on.
BUT what about the situations where saying no would just be unreasonable (even though might hate doing it).

Examples:
1 - my sister is late for school and asks me for a ride to the subway station which is a 10 minute trip (a couple times a week ). Its unreasonable to say no is it not? and yet it fucking pisses me off sometimes.

2 - my girlfriend (when i had one) when we're done eating at food court at a mall might tell me to throw the tray away. Its such a small thing to do that i wouldnt tell her to fuck off. but she asks me to it all the fucking time.

3 - friends of mine who often get me to sell their stuff or buy them stuff off ebay (half of which are inconsiderate and dont give me a few bucks for my troubles). It doesnt really take that much time to buy something on ebay for someone, but its still a pain in the ass. but usually i do it anyway since its sorta unreasonable to say no.


Maybe i need to start asking other people to do more favors for me? or should i just stop being a pussy and tell everyone to screw off more often?

I'm starting to lean towards what SilentMind said, but not quite. All of these things really depend on their tone when they are talking to you. If your girlfriend commands you to take the tray, that would annoy me, if your sister is never grateful for the rides home, that would annoy me, etc.

But if that's not the case you just need to step back and chill out.

kay i really didnt used to mind buying and selling stuff for maybe a couple friends but as soon as ppl know you have ebay its like it spreads like wild fire.

Just don't do it. If it is any slight inconvenience to you at all don't do it. Why should you? They should have thought about all that shit before they did it. Don't pick up her garbage, and don't put shit away. The things I mentioned stand for chivalry, protecting her, etc. That's how it registers in her mind. Throwing away her trash stands for a servant, and you aren't her bitch, are you? Once in a while, like every 20th time, clean up after her. It'll be a nice surprise. It's reasonable to say no. It's your petrol money and your time. I've never owned a car in my life and I don't bother people to give me rides.

While that isn't significant in itself, it can be a part of a larger picture, where women gradually whip men up by making them do small things here and there until they're firmly in control (been there....as have most guys I think, especially with the first serious girlfriend).

Who paid for the meals? If your ex did, I'd say you were right to go ahead and do it. If you paid for it, no way in hell should you have done it for her. If you split it or each paid for your own, then you should have told her "I did it last time" and not budged. It may not seem like much but if you let them command you to do one thing, it spirals out of control very easy (women seem to subconciously test men and how weak willed they are).

While it's a small thing in itself it's not unreasonable to say no...unless they're doing you favours as well, which it sounds like it isn't.

You have a right to say no, and you need to realise that. Make sure it's a firm no too, just say a flat "no" not "Well I don't really want to, I've been doing it alot" (that kind of sentence leaves you open to them nagging you and cajoiling you to do it).

But it depends on the relationship too. If my dad woke up at 4am to drive my mom to her friends because for any reason she couldn't drive herself...she wouldn't be using him, since they love each other and do anything for each other.

Sure, with your friends, tell them to sell their own stuff, or atleast cut you a deal. Putting stuff on Ebay takes time and effort and they should be giving you something for that and the fact you put that effort in at all.
